Hello everyone! Greetings of the day! Please advise me on this issue: I've just gotten admission for a 2 years master course at Mount saint Vincent University but I want to differ this admission till next year due to some unforseen circumstances. Is it possible I apply for my study permit before the diferral as their requirements keep changing every year. Is it possible I apply and keep my visa with me till next year when I'm ready to go? Thank you |

HI guys, does the info below mean that spouses of 1 year Masters degree students don't get work permit any longer? Who can apply Your spouse or common-law partner must meet the eligibility criteria listed below to be eligible for an open work permit. Starting January 21, 2025, your spouse or common-law partner may be eligible for an open work permit if you have a valid study permit and you’re either studying in a master’s degree program of 16 months or longer studying in a doctoral degree program participating in an eligible program, or studying in one of the following professional degree programs at a university: Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS, DMD) Bachelor of Law or Juris Doctor (LLB, JD, BCL) Doctor of Medicine (MD) Doctor of Optometry (OD) Pharmacy (PharmD, BS, BSc, BPharm) Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN, BSN) Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNSc) Bachelor of Nursing (BN) Bachelor of Education (BEd) Bachelor of Engineering (BEng, BE, BASc) https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/work/help-your-spouse-common-law-partner-work-canada.html |

Davido97:Not normal, are they using an agent? |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Davido97: 11:31pm On Apr 06, 2025 |
Bobomaigida:The primary applicant who is her fiancée did his biometrics some years back when he wanted to travel but she has not been called for biometrics and there has not been a request for their passport since may of 2024 that’s when they have been on this that’s why I asked what the issue could be |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Bobomaigida: 1:10am On Apr 07, 2025 |
Davido97:May 2024, till now and someone has not been called for biometrics is too long. That is why I asked if they are using an agent who is not giving them the real facts about the application. |

Bobomaigida:They are using an agent but is it possible for it to take so long for a spouse to be called for biometrics ? |

Davido97:Something has probably gone wrong with the application. Probably a communication problem. It's time you request for login details to access your acct. |

Hello everyone, I'm new on this thread, I submitted my study application in January got a refusal in about 3 weeks stating insufficient funds(12m in personal account, 16m in investment account plus paid first semester tuition fees. I added 2 inherited properties in my name valued at 88m (one of which is rented and i stay in the 2nd with my wife and son). Documents submitted includes: Statements and reference letters from banks Work appointment letter and ID Affidavit of gift deed from wife (12m) Property gift deed from late father Property evaluation SOP/LOE I reapplied showing same amount in my accounts as well as a GIC account in canada with 10k CAD deposited. It's over 6 weeks with no updates. Please are there any additional documents I should upload via webform? NB: I have a job that pays 300k monthly with a reputable organization, i receive a combined annual rental income of 2.5m |

laidima88:6 months? You aren't eligible for a Study permit as an intl student. |
| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by zubizareta(m): 11:37am On Apr 11, 2025 |
laidima88:People have gotten visa approvals on the 3rd or 4th attemp after initial refusal(s). So the answer is yes if you can address the concerns of the VO. Be ready to prove the funds you have aren't for demonstrative purposes anyway |
