I don know say Onana dull with that him punk haircut. Meanwhile, Shaw and Mainoo are in the travelling squad. Amass, Kukonki, Kamason, Kukonki are also in the squad. |

Pre match there is no need for the Lyon manager to give any motivational speech. He only needs to show his players Onana's speech saying that they are dog sh1t and useless. It is going to be a long evening tomorrow. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Ellexy: 4:01pm On Apr 09, 2025 |
MRTA7:Onana didn't say anything to warrant that reaction from Matic. Maybe Matic been get the guy for mind before, that's the only explanation.= He didn't disrespect Lyon or the players, he just said he believes United is a better team and if they play will win.

nitrogen:and who's going to sell you any young player already a regular in their first team for 5-10million? |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by CrystalTiger(m): 4:03pm On Apr 09, 2025 |
Yeah, there's no need to start Onana tomorrow, he'll fold so soon with that crowd probably booing him.. On top of being a bang average GK, he's now going to face a very hostile home crowd.. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 4:15pm On Apr 09, 2025 |
Ellexy:If you remove "we are way better than them" he didn't say anything disrespectful. It is not a smart thing to say going away to a hostile environment. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Ellexy: 4:39pm On Apr 09, 2025 |
afrodoc2:Lol this age of being politically correct and overly offended by every little thing is really something else. Cos how is a player now saying his team is better than the opponent considered disrespect? Like I said, be like Matic get the guy for mind, nothing else can explain the faux outrage. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 4:51pm On Apr 09, 2025 |
Ellexy:Even without Matic's response it was the wrong thing to say going away to their stadium. That is exactly why the journalists asked for Matic's response. It is also not about modern political correctness. The usual thing is to just say they are a tough opponent and that we will have to play well to defeat them. It is not and has never been commonplace or wise to claim to be far better than an opponent when you are going to their stadium for a potentially tricky tie. We should just agree to disagree on this one. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Goosethetruth(m): 5:47pm On Apr 09, 2025 |
Even the greatest footballers in history always respect their opponents before engagement. It is not being politically awoke. It is simply having respect and regard for your opponents no matter how useless and inept you feel they are in your soul. What Onana has done is to ignite a fire in the Lyon players and their fan base going into a game in a hostile territory and stadium. I just hope Onana raises his game from it's usual mediocre level because he has inadvertently put a target on himself and his goal post for Lyon players to attack tomorrow night. |

Onana said absolutely nothing wrong. Matic should stop being a baby. Believing in your team and saying you are better than the opponent is the kind of mentality we need and in no way is that disrespecting the opponent. |

ChristineC:You can say I insult people but I dont care. Dorgu is doing very well, and 25m Euros for him is the right price, anyone who thinks otherwise is entitled to their opinion oo, no bigi, but the person doesn’t know anything about football. May be they want Lecce to sell him to us for free. Go and see how much Sporting bought Conrad Harder and Diomande from obscure leagues and splashing 27m for Gyokeres was not even the top scorer in the Championship |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Jamiuokolaa: 8:38pm On Apr 09, 2025 |
Bombblacks:Actually, one would have expected Onana to say the exact opposite by praising Lyon with the hope that it gets into their head and they get overconfident and complacent. It seems the traditional mind games don get new meaning and definition Football has really evolved..lol |

Desire Doue of PSG, who is only aged 19 years just curled a superb goal over Emil Martinez of Aston Villa in the Champions league q-finals. Age is nothing but a number. If a player is good enough, age is certainty irrelevant. |

What Onana said wasn’t that bad although it’s ill advised. I watched the Matic interview. The journalist baited him and he fell for it. |

This Disasi is a disaster. A ticking time bomb. Knew Aston Villa would concede in no distant time soon as the fool came on for Cash. |

Goosethetruth:Garnarcho scored 2 goal’s against the same Aston Villa, when we came from Behind to win 3-2. Infact ii could have been a hat-rick if not for marginal offside. |

odizeey:Boxing (and most martial arts) is different. In combat sports making your opponent angry actually works in your favor because a calm and composed fighter is exponentially more dangerous than one who is fighting based on emotion. It is not a street fight. |

Shaw, Mainoo, Kukonki, Kamasson on the bench. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by ChristineC: 7:04pm On Apr 10, 2025 |
I see so many names from the youth team on the bench. I don't know why Chido was not registered. the team has to win this game though. a relaxed second leg at home will grow the newfound squad confidence further. hopefully it rubs off on Hojlund. |
