The journey begins with using your own brain because there are many religions due to the acknowledgement of many deities to know the pathway to truth you need to be observant of everything going on around you, listening well to what each religion teaches and the result thereafter.
If care is not taken you'll think truth is falsehood but when asked to convince someone else you will just continue to be aggressive towards everyone because you don't know how to go about what you think in your heart.
Today you are insulting everyone that talks about worship of God think of the time when your own child as a grown up will start asking you questions regarding what you concluded about God by then you can't threaten such an adult since he or she doesn't need food from you anymore you will say he or she has been brainwashed while he or she will respectfully take his leave only to say to his siblings:

"Daddy has refused to listen all these years but let's keep praying for him"

At that time i wonder what you will do as you're not interested in knowing how to prepare for that time!

I also was born into religion but my love for God moved me to start searching for the true religion because i strongly believe that pure worship should be somewhere if there is truly a God.

Ask Kumuyi and Adeboye whether his Jesus is different from each other. They will tell you No. And we see that in scripture as well.

Paul has been teaching against circumcision is gentile lands, while in Jerusalem, they were preaching circumcision. In fact one group is known in Jerusalem as supporters of circumcision. Paul even wrote a letter of Hebrews to explain why they should leave that circumcision issue at Hebrews. Yet Paul won't see these brothers as following another Jesus than he does.
