Should a woman submit to a man who is cold, abusive or unfaithful; simply because he is her husband?

A better question would be, "Should a woman, knowing fully well she has no desire to submit to any being, choose to enter into marriage with a man whose sole desire is for her to submit to him? Women need to take responsibility for their own failures here. They are usually not forced into these marriages, and divorce has been available from the very beginning to everyone convinced he/she had made an error in marriage. undecided

Sweetie, I asked about biblical submission in the face of abuse, not for a tired lecture blaming women for their own mistreatment. Theology should be able to tell the difference between submission and enduring maltreatment.

There is no biblical submission. Rather, what you have are religious narratives constructed by your religious gods of men in attempts to keep you all subjugated/mentally controlled. undecided

2. Well, theology is based almost entirely on the musings of the minds of the many men who rule over the narratives. So, isn't your first error expecting them to be able to tell you this difference? undecided

I’m not looking to engage in a debate about my faith. This was intended to be a discussion of Christian beliefs; not an avenue for attacking the faith itself.

You’re clearly making this about personal grievances with Christianity rather than engaging in a sincere dialogue.

While you’re free to hold your views, mutual respect for differing perspectives is important.

Do have a nice day!

This isn't about me or my grievances, but the fact that you, a Christian, are attempting to argue against a theological doctrine— wholly religious with no biblical origin whatsoever— while at the same time insisting the answers must come from the very same people who hold and propagate the very idea you are against. It is a sort of mental laziness... is what it seems. undecided

You call it lazy to seek the truth. But Proverbs 18:2 says, 'A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion.

1. What you seek from these theologians isn't truth, but rather you want them to validate your own ideas, which is likely never going to happen, particularly since submission is considered a core tenet of the religion you belong to. undecided

2. The foolish one here happens to be you, the one seeking validation from others, your theologians, as far as what to believe. undecided

Or a woman could choose a partner who sees her as his equal in all-wise. Marriages founded on this also exist. undecided

Fortunately, it’s not only your type of men that exist. With the kind of men I date and surround myself with, I doubt I’ll end up with rubbish as a husband.

No other generation of women should be led by fear and misinterpreted Scriptures. If the truth stings, sit with it. It’s supposed to.

You’re probably one of those whose control depends on the ignorance of women. You’re scared of the truth because it will break that leash you’ve got going.

Okay, sweetie, I get you; but when the Word says walk away, who am I to argue? Proverbs 14:7. Be blessed.

Walk away from what? Try to pay close attention to the advise given to gain understanding rather than these attempts at imposing ideas different from the contained message. undecided

Yes, walk away, is there a problem? Proverb 14:7 TLV.

Understanding comes when we seek truth with an open heart, not by engaging in discussions that lack intellectual or Spiritual nourishment. May the good God heal you. Be Blessed.

Do you at least accept that the one brandishing the foolishness I am to walk away from here is your person? undecided

I can't argue with a shadow. If my acceptance will make you feel justified, I accept, you are right and I am wrong.

A man who calls the mirror ugly walks away unchanged.

Be blessed!
