patrickmuf:Hojlund actually did well versus Lyon, in our match against Sociedad at home he did very well too. Promote this same Obi now and begin to play him regularly, the same people will say he is trash and should be offloaded, forgetting he is just 17. |

CapitalCee:You are right about Shaw. It’s probably too soon after playing 60mins. I however think it is crucial we rest Maguire and Yoro to avoid season ending injury. Maguire himself just passed fitness tests a couple of weeks ago. Yoro has played a lot this month and had probably being our best defender in that period. Unless Amorim wants to risk Kukonki instead of Shaw which is unlikely. Heaven would have been the obvious choice but he got injured again in training. Those players have made things difficult by allowing that match go into extra time. You also have a point about Rasmus but we have played him over and over again this season and the confidence is still nowhere to be found. At this point I think we should start looking at building our own confidence for the future rather than prioritising a single player’s confidence. We need to find out how ready Obi in particular is to contribute to the team. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 4:03am On Apr 20, 2025 |
CapitalCee:I am not sure about that statement. It has more to do with how poor Rasmus than how good Obi is. I personally don’t think Rasmus is better. My main concern is that rushing Obi might interfere with his football development as an individual player.and stop him from maximising his talent. Rasmus is so bad right now that I can’t say for sure that playing him over Obi gives us a better chance at winning. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by CapitalCee(m): 5:40am On Apr 20, 2025 |
afrodoc:For me apart from Confidence, loosing Rasmus to fitness issues wouldn’t be a disaster anyway. I still think Obi is not yet ready, he is very young, most strikers don’t start performing at young age, he is still very very young, a lot of our impatient and unintelligent fans will kill his confidence before his career even start, I have watched him closely at the youth team, while he is fantastic, the senior team will be a big leap for him. We need to take it easy with him, he needs one more year in the youth team, and another year on loan before we consider him for the senior team. I have made my research and discovered that a lot of the elite/Top strikers we have today in football, started pulling in numbers at 24/25ish. Kane, Lewandowski, Marmoush, Gyokeres, Isak, Osihmen, Lataro Martinez, I can even add Vardy, Ivan Toney, Thuram, and Olie Watkins. Even the Mateta and Cunha most of our fans are calling the club to buy were not world beaters at 19/20. Infact Wolsburg sold Osihmen for €3.5m in 2019, to Belgium, one year later Lille sold him for €76m to Napoli. The story of Marmoush and Gyokeres are the most remarkable. Some of these youngsters who are balling now will later tail off, we saw Jovic, Felix and Ferguson, Brighton was quoting 100m for him 1 year ago. That is why i dont want Delap or Etikite and their likes. |

CapitalCee:I am not asking us to play Obi as our starting CF next season. No matter what happens we need to have a new starting CF next season. I just think it would be nice to give him 1 or 2 starts this end of season. If he proves himself this season, then he might be our No 2 striker next season. The major issue though is that losing Ramus to injury will actually be a disaster in Europe. Even if it is to come on as a sub or come on as an extra attacker if we are chasing a goal. We can't go into the semi-finals and finals of a European competition having no recognized striker in the squad. Obi is ineligible. Zirkzee is injured. Also, you can't with on one hand say that we need to give him minutes to boost his confidence, and on the other hand say losing him (in a competition in which he is our only striker) is not a disaster. Do you want to play Maguire as CF for 90-120 mins or is it Kobbie you want to use for 90-120 mins? Ultimately i will trust the decision of the coaching staff. I didn't think Amass was ready to cope with the physicality of senior football, but he has done okay in that regards SO FAR. If Amass is ready, then i believe Kamason is ready as well. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by CapitalCee(m): 6:55am On Apr 20, 2025 |
afrodoc2:Ofcourse, i know You are not saying he should be a starter next season. I am just afraid for him, if he didnt kick on immediately and the backlash he might receive considering his age, If he will be here, he should just be having Cameos like Endrick in Madrid. Amass has adapted to the physicality very well and he very composed. Kamason is even more physical than Amass, So he will be fine, He is almost the same age with Heaven, long term injury just delayed his development. I want to see Morehouse at some point this season too. I think Obi, Kamason, Kukonki, Amass, Moorehouse and may be Montato as Graduates this season is a good number. Not forgetting Kone too. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 7:08am On Apr 20, 2025 |
CapitalCee: Yes, to that list. The most important thing for them is that they all have natural positions in this Amorim formation and system. Amass, Mantato, Kamason will be interesting though. |

CapitalCee:I think they are intentionally keeping him away from the senior team until next season. They rarely show Under-21 games but from the little i have seen he has potential. He struggled with the tempo of Under-21 earlier on in the season but seems to have started dominating over the past few weeks. |

Even if Bruno doesn't want to rest, Amorim should force him to.. Bruno, Casemiro, Yoro, Mazuaori, Maguire, to an extent Mainoo too, Amorim has to keep them as fresh as he can.. Happy Easter Fellas.. |

afrodoc2:Maybe we should jejely get Kovar to come back. We don’t need mad keeping ability. Just someone who is not error-prone. |

CrystalTiger:Bruno is an alien. whenever he get some rest though, his levels significantly rise. |

I don't know if it's me, but I don't want us to sign Cunha |

| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 10:08am On Apr 20, 2025 |
CapitalCee:Hopefully. He is naturally smaller than them but I like the way he plays with tempo and tenacity. There is real potential in his progressive passing and ball carrying. |

afrodoc:The few times I have watched Kovar at Leverkusen, he has made costly errors...He is not an upgrade on Onana... |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 10:09am On Apr 20, 2025 |
CapitalCee:The market is not easy. Who are the players you would like us to sign? |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 10:10am On Apr 20, 2025 |
I think I will watch the game today just the see what the youngsters can do...A few experienced heads mixed with youth should make for an interesting game. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 10:23am On Apr 20, 2025 |
patrickmuf:I just read that Tyler Fredricson will get a start at CB today. An out of left field decision for a player whose United hopes I thought had been permanently dashed due to injuries. It might be Fredricson, Lindelof, Maz at the back. |

afrodoc:You haven't mentioned this one before...Let me go check him out. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc(m): 10:36am On Apr 20, 2025 |
patrickmuf:He was the best rated CB in Mainoo’s set and actually made a Europa League squad for the senior team as far back as 2022, then he got injured the next month and did not come back until last year. I still think it’s not going to happen for him here cos that injury took away his top level speed but it’s still good to see him at least get this chance. He is getting it most likely because he is the most mature and senior team ready CB in the academy, not because he has a longterm future here. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by CapitalCee(m): 10:39am On Apr 20, 2025 |
afrodoc:He is 26 now. He has only been good at Wolves from last season and Brazilian players loss steam at 29 max. Especially forward players, the example are just too much. He will cost about £65m, he is giving me an expensive flop vibes. And funny how nobody is talking about his attitude, he can mess up a crucial game with stupid red cards or suspension. I might be wrong though, but my instincts about him is not good. For me what is holding us is a clinical striker, who is a press demon. Then get someone who is about to break out, our scouts need to work hard and smart, Cunha looks like and easy scouting. |
| Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by afrodoc2: 10:41am On Apr 20, 2025 |
CapitalCee:I agree 90%. The only thing is that his red card record is actually good. It is definitely lazy scouting. |

patrickmuf:For Me Kovar is not at our level, he is Below Avarage I jave watched him at Leverkusen a couple of times, he is error prone We can get a 29-32 year old GKs that will be fantastic, Inter sold us the Bum Onana, and got Yan Sommer for like 5m and he was 34 that time, Van der Sar was languishing at Fulham 34 before fergie got him, he won us the UCL. No be everytime spending big solves problem. How old is Mat Sels at Forest. GK is a different of position. |

afrodoc:I read it somewhere too just now, I think Amorim is going for Maturity in Age. I know he won't want to risk Shaw, he played 50+35 minutes on Thursday. |
