Whenever I hear stories like this and I watch people taking sides while calling the guys mother all sorts of names, I always pause to think. Now, the thing is that sometimes some mothers turn out to be right and sometimes they turn out to be wrong but what's important is the end result. I used to have a friend who is friend to a guy from one of this southern states and this southern guy was on several occasions advised by this parents especially his mother, not to marry an ibo girl, she had her valid reasons which she disclosed to her son and according to my former friend were valid, but her son insisted on going on with the marriage and she offered her full support together with her sons father but years later, one thing led to the other lots of secrets regarding the lady started coming out. Infact, from the last update that I got from my former friend before I ended my friendship with the guy because him ways no pure again, the girl don turn the guy upside down and family no dey near the guy again, pikin dey abuse mama and wife dey support am, mama don turn witch over night.

Truthfully, anybody fit mess up but make your own mess up no be for marriage because you fit no recover

Why would one marry into a family that does not like you and therefore would make your marriage miserable? The problem I have with people who pr vent marriage because of tribal differences is these are the same people that will shower blessings on a White that shows up out of the blue .... totally different and foreign ... knows absolutely nothing about them because they never mingled with them ...most times is the first time ever speaking to such a person... ... background check ruled out... but will believe every word that drops out of that person's mouth. Hypocrites everywhere. He should tell his parents he now has a White gf .... bet she'll be speaking from the other side of her mouth

My mum is like that too but that one is her own business sha. She knows that she can't take tribal matter to me anymore because I ensure I killed the attitude long time ago. My mum could be so selective that she would want to select even in my tribe. Like this tribe with us you can't marry from this village o, their men dey quick dey die o. Na there I take fear her but all those tribe things are over now. She can only frown face then get along and be happy later.

Tribe is just one of the reasons people refuse their children from marrying from a particular area, within the eastern states, some people will still refused their children from marrying fellow Igbo.
