We have pushed an update that should solve at least 30% of the problem.

Congratulations. I am impressed. The bot has performed better than the thirty something moderators who only answer the title. Stay diligent. I know you’re quick to remove attention from positive actions. That the members who actively troll or set scams have been absent for two days now is something to commend. Users will reduce, but the quality of posts will rise. Stay patient during the wait.

The bot has been awful and even he knows it by constantly tuning the algorithm over and over. again.

People are now expecting to be banned for anything, in fact they are surprised by not being banned and the bot has now (rightfully or wrongly) turned into an object of ridicule in some threads.

The way to correctly approach the implementation of the bot is start small and widen, not start big and start reducing the scope as clearly done here. Mark my words, that algorithm is going to be reset, if not already, to show that it was a badly thought out way to roll it out.

While this move dealt a heavy blow to bad actors, the bot also made many mistakes which led to innocent people getting banned from time to time for no good reason. I understand how you feel about this. It is simply not acceptable.

We have reduced the length of the bot bans from up to 3 days to no more than 30 minutes. We are also working to massively improve the accuracy of the bot. Meanwhile, if you are mistakenly blocked, please don' take it personally. We will fix it as soon as we can.

I don’t think it will be reset. It will be tuned. His pocket size is the only yardstick directing his actions.

Advertisers must’ve dwindled over nasty comments, hence his quick action to correct the situation. Notice that tougher moderation was the plan of action he thought up and claimed it was the only advice given. Check the last pages of that other thread. Whether we wanted him to or not, he would’ve activated the bot. My only pain is it is the same old technology he is using, claiming it is “AI” because that is the reigning term in technology. He could’ve implemented this cleanse ten years ago. He didn’t care because the action of trolls didn’t affect his pockets then.

I’m only happy that front page comments don’t devolve into inane bashing. I can sit down and enjoy different viewpoints to topics. The last time someone enjoyed that was pre-2015.

I was innocently banned too. What pained me was that I was banned when I was not toxic at all, not when I was giving it hot hot to tribalists and those who insulted me first.

It seems the law caught up with you and past sins are not going unpunished.

thank u, there are lot of trolls here. I have been getting trolled by a single Monika that is persistently accusing me of fraud... he has called me different names which i don't even know. He keeps trolling all my posts and it pains me that nothing was done about it.

Pls there should be a block button. People are innocently accused and trolled on basis. Not everyone has the emotional discipline to face such trolling. I have heard of someone that committed suicide because of online trolls before nd am beginning to understand the severity of the situation as a victim myself.

First to go police doesn't imply winning the case. Your allegation will be thoroughly investigated. I am aware of at least 3 different persons on this platform who have reported your dubious activities with their evidence of bank payments to you for different services. Those can't amount to a single moniker. And there must be truth in one if not all the accusations.

Someone on Nairaland has been trolling me since last year. He is accusing me of fraud that he said i defrauded some one and he is a vigilante of some sort. The truth of the matter is that i am a business man and have had some bad relations with one or two of my clients that came online to spit fire. At the end, it was business as usual and most of the faults came from them and i have never ever defrauded anyone.


But i have never had any business with this troll. Somehow he posted other people's names and claimed them to be mine too. The most annoying is that he posted my bank account details which was available on my website. His demands was that i should pay 5 million Naira for  him to stop writing defamatory trends about me.


If i remember correctly, it is against Nairaland rules for personal private details to be posted without the consent of the owner, so why is the mod not doing anything about this?


Like i said, i have never done any business with him before.None at all. But everyday he keeps trolling me with his two profile. This trolling is affecting me psychologically and i beg you in the name of God to look into this.


If i exhaust every available option of getting his account penalised and those posts deleted, i may resort to justice system of the court of law. 


Please i need your help. This is affecting me. Everyday trolling from a stranger is not a simple thing. Pls.


the below trend is a trend he created on allegations. He didn't say we had any deal. He accused me that i allegedly defrauded someone.
