Whether he learn from him or not, Barry still remains his mentor and all of them have paid there dues so they should be building legacies and forget about the superiority complex. The should use their songs to speak truth to those power as they did during the military era so that the society can be better for it.

You don't have to.
Muslims create Fuji music while Christians create Juju music. You can like both, reject one or hate both irrespective of your religion but the fact is na Muslims get Fuji music while Christians get Juju musics. No Muslim musician sings juju music better than Christians and no Christian musician can sing Fuji music pass Muslims. You can't reverse the history.
I still don't like Fuji.

First Ayinde Barrister made us love Fuji.

Next it was Wasiu Ayinde. Like I stated earlier, Talazzo Fuji starting in 1985 took Fuji to another level. He made everyone love Fuji, irrespective of tribe or religion. He commanded many followers with his own brand of Fuji. He pushed Barrister to upgrade and Barrister gave us that danceable Fuji…..not the rough shadow boxing type dancing. With KWAM, Fuji was sweet, loveable, nice and easy.

He made the likes of Ayuba to improve, even though Ayuba was almost his contemporary. All those Pasuma, Osupa, etc, are left for the jagajaga people on Nairaland here.

KWAM introduced the saxophone and made Fuji sexy.

You lived with him. You watched him play. You listened to him. He mentored you and yet he did not teach you Fuji? Which kind story be that?

There were two masters who laid claim to the title of Fuji King. You received the title and claimed that it was Barrister who was honored. Why did you not insist that the said title must be given to Barrister, directly knowing that he was your master, instead of you?

You lived with him in one room and so tayyy, you built a house in Okota, just like Barrister who built a beautiful house in Okota, close to Okota round about. Unfortunately Barrister’s building in Okota caught fire sometime in 1995 and he packed to the house in Isolo where he lived until his demise. You still live in your Okota house o. No be copy you copy Barrister to live in Okota?

Oga, you only revolutionized Fuji music when you played Talazzo Fuji in 1985 abeg. Barrister moved up with Fuji gabbage to meet the needs of his own fans then. He was there long before you in the 70s.

Abeg Barrister is the progenitor of Fuji. Kollington followed him. The fights and abuses between Kollington and Barrister were not necessary, as they were both strong in their own rights then. Thankfully Pasuma settled the fight before Barrister passed on.
Fuji music is the stupidest, most overrated noise that can be called music on earth.

The "music" of touts, thugs, area boys and other miscreants, music wey dey kill brain cells, music wey dey dull IQ.

The only "music" genre where the players actively hate each other and go to great lengths to vilify, abuse or even kill each other by diabolical means.

The "music" where each player declares that he is the "king of music" and all they do is copy other people's songs, except they make them sound bad.

Stupid cacophony that some people call music.

He lived with a practicing Fuji musician but he picked nothing from him, even though he became a Fuji musician himself.

To be candid, even as a Yoruba man other Fuji music sounds like noise and I wonder what people enjoy in such aggravating sounds grin

By the way, one needs not to get close to kwam 1 before you can smell his very rude attitude and unnecessary pride.
Go and listen to Ayinde Barrister, Wasiu was a copycat and revolutionized it after his death

Always know how to identify and separate issues, that is what he has done. You don't need to be clouded by emotions and sentiments.
Even from the analysis, supported by old interview granted by Barrister, Barrister only modified fuji not the creator.

Off course barrister and kollington has their own genre of music and it's high-class during their time but kwam 1 blended it and take it to another whole level.
I don't know if it's 'Berlin' or so the title of one of his album, no music lover all over the world will dare call it noise.

Barrister did not modify Fuji. He created it. Barrister after seeing an advertisement for the famous Fuji mountain on a visit to Japan, called his music “Fuji”. It was a blend of different Yoruba musical styles.

Wasiu copied him, but only had it registered, as he mentioned to us. What he did was going ahead of the owner, to get the copy rights. If Barrister were alive today, he’d be close to 80. He started playing long ago in the 1960s.

We are fans of both of them, but the truth must be told from experience, that Barrister is the owner of Fuji.

Wasiu changed the playing style with Talazzo in 1985 and Barrister changed his own style with Fuji gabbage series one in 1988.

Barrister dead in 2010,meaning 15 years ago,are you now saying Fuji hasn't moved on since his demise.....I just don't know why some always want to give credit alone to Barrister, others too have their inputs and fact K1 is the major player in Fuji music so let's give him that credit.

Even though I couldn't read through the whole thing but the one I read about Kolington not reciprocating his love when needed most is very sad. An Elder shouldn't have done that when you know somebody did wonders when you're in need. There are some Elders that are full of the sense of entitlement..they believed it is their rights to be assisted and care less about the need of their subordinates .. I have learnt to disconnect myself from such people to avoid nonsense . Thanks for the interview..

Pls did Wasiu said Barrister is not the creator of Fuji music.

The issue with Fuji fans are numerous regarding Fuji music....many of them lacks intellect discussing Fuji genre. They don't want to hear that any Fuji musician contributed more than Barrister in Fuji music.

Yes Barrister created Fuji music but we must acknowledge others who are trying to maintain the glory of Fuji music.

K1 has outlived Barrister contribution into Fuji music, this is a bitter fact than many would be bringing emotive analyses to disagree.

Barrister would be happy if he is alive seeing what K1 has done to Fuji music

Fuji music still enjoys huge following among the Yoruba till date. People were initially worried that it may lose steam but it even expanded. Adewale Ayuba's Koloba and K1's Ade Ori Ọkin, among many others, will burst your head!

K1 is the best Fuji star ever, facts are there to see for those who are not emotives with facts

Yes Barry created it and no argument.

Pls why always Fuji and not juju.

Obey and Sunny are the greatest juju musicians and they didn't created juju

And why is it difficult in Fuji music to accept someone is greater than Barrister the creator of Fuji

Obviously you didnt watch through the interview, there was an embeded clip where barrister himself mentioned the fuji they were playing on Lagos Island before his own fuji. If the word 'fuji' had been used before him, anything after that is a modification.
