I said Mount was not the profile the team needed at that point. Going by the season we had, we needed a younger Casemiro in midfield, or any midfielder who is good in buildup and shielding the defense. That definitely wasn’t Mount’s profile.

I was not the only one who thiught so. Several people did too. We were curious as to what ETH would do with Mount. Lo and behold, it was donut midfield.

That ETH deemed Mount’s profile crucial to his new donut setup should tell you he is seriously lacking when it comes to identifying the right tools he needs to do his job.

The fault of the management was having so little football knowledge that they couldn’t counter ETH’s “Mount is critical to my set up” argument and stop his craze before it got out of hand.

Another fault they had was entrusting the whole recruitment stuff to ETH and giving him so much power when he wasnt know as a transfer guru.

Can’t blame them much. They themselves were incompetent in football matters. They were desperate to have ETH and didn’t realize they needed more football people making recruitment decisions.

Apart from the amount being a little high I don't get the Animus about the Mount signing. I keep seeing he was injury prone but he wasn't before we signed him. He was hardly missing any game at Chelsea. The season before we bought him he missed only 13games for Chelsea with injury. Mazaroui missed 17games for Bayern last season, De ligt missed 23games. It's a shame injury has has kept Mount from actually performing to his ability.
