I'm getting banned and blocked for simple things like editing my previous comments. I honestly feel targeted. I'm losing my will to stay here! I don't break ANY rules! But spam bot is banning me and deleting my comments! It the deleting that hurts more than being banned because deleting my comments (which broke zero rules) hurts more than meaning banned for 2 hours. Seun. I've been here for 10 ÷ years. Your juju has worked! But your spam bot will have me leaving even though you won't let me delete my account. I have messaged mods at every level and section complaining about the spam bot but I got band 3 times a day everyday! For what? Commenting? You don't want your member to comment? We can't edit comments? Seun! Help me understand or your Juju will finally break and I will leave your website. Keep my moniker since you won't let us deactivate. What is happening here Seun! I'm so sad and upset. Delete this too so I can leave your website alone... finally!!!

I was banned like 11 times last year (from October to December) so far i've been banned twice this year. The ban happens in two categories - there's the 1 hour ban where i can't post or comment at all, after that comes the 24hour ban where i cannot post or comment only in a certain section.

My advise, don't take it personally.

It's so disheartening! With all the sexism, tribalism, and straight bigotry that is allowed to go on but spambot targets normal healthy comments.

Let's hope it's a glitch that would be fixed soonest. So sorry about your ordeal.

So I can't respond, comment or edit because some scammers were posting crazy stuff? We should suffer for the sins of others? It doesn't make sense to me. I'd rather deal with those crazy threads and mad comments than be penalised for doing nothing wrong. I use to avoid and ignore that madness. Now you don't know which comment or reply will set spam bot on you!

it is because you thought about what you needed to write carefully before hitting "submit". a thing that not many nairaland users do for the past 10 years or so

Why was the bot reposting a deleted thread? I was banned and my writings deleted. I reposted which went through, the next day, I found the deleted writings getting reposted by the bot.

Some people think this is normal?

It bans me for editing my own post and making a harmless contribution. I wanted to help a lady financially here to start a business and I get banned for that. The bans usually last for 30 minutes, and I just let it go. I know it is a huge bottleneck but I believe the advantages far outweighs the disadvantage of the spam bots. I was considering leaving at some points but thanks the the spambots, I am no longer addicted to reading or posting on NL as I once was.

There was a time I was banned and my post deleted by the spambots, I had created a duplicate post and later on, my deleted post was returned by the spambots. I was surprised seeing the same post duplicated by the bots so, I kukuma deleted one myself.

I’ve noticed this recently! I got banned and post deleted, only for it to be back after my ban expired. I really hope Seun figures it out soon because although I love the troll free nairaland, the unnecessary bans are becoming a drag.
