People Who Party Almost All The Time, How Do You Guys Do It? by Samantha125(op): 8:47pm On May 07, 2025
I week ago I attended a lekompo mix party in Joburg and we left Durban at around 10pm because I had to wait for my husband to knock off from work so that we can leave together... Since he was tired, I was the one behind the wheel for a whole seven hours.

It's been three months since I visited home in Limpopo and I've been home sick to a point that I found myself subscribing to any Limpopo related YouTube channels and creating a tik tok account just to watch Bapedi related content... The withdrawals were dealing with me... I don't know when I'll get used to being away from my people for over long periods of time, but hopefully, I'll get better with time.

When I heard there was going to be a lekompo balcony mix party in Joburg, I was like this is the chance for me to go and have fun with my people from Limpopo... I started practicing the dance moves from the beginning of the month of April and upon getting there, I actually cried tears of joy... grin grin grin... I gave my husband two options, either he joins me on the dance floor, or he watches me from a distance because I didn't want any disturbances...😅😅😅... One thing about lekompo is that there's no VIP, no time to be playing slay queen or cheese boy... If you're a lady and you come there wearing high heels, just know you're in the wrong place...😅😅😅... I heard some guys complaining about how they couldn't have fun because their girlfriends were acting like VIPs... grin grin grin

I had the time of my life and I was opportuned to meet some of my favourite lekompo musicians and danced with them, I even got their autographs all over my cropped T shirt, the t-shirt was new, but I didn't care...💃🏿💃🏿💃🏿... By Monday morning last week, my voice was gone, but I was not done yet, since it was a public holiday, I went to Pretoria to attend another party, Manyalo balcony mix party... grin grin grin... My husband later flew back to Durban because duty was calling while I stayed behind.

My voice was gone for almost the entire week and I became a vegetable, I had to call in sick at work so I can rest, I wasn't even drinking any alcohol... Sign language became my new language... grin grin grin... I was only able to travel back to Durban on Thursday... I'm still recovering from that long weekend even today, but I've already bought tickets for the next lekompo mix which will be in Limpopo later this month...😩😩😩... I don't know how I'll get there, but I will be there... So I want to know how do those people who party almost all the time do it? I once heard someone saying problem with us introverts is that we overdo things whenever we get a chance to attend parties, making us very exhausted afterwards.

@Samantha125, you may not be an introvert. In fact, I believe you ain't...prolly an omnivert or ambivert. You got extremely exhausted because that ain't your usual lifestyle. If you're are consistent in partying and loud lifestyles, you will get used to it. It's just like someone who visited the gym for the first; he will get so tired.
As for me, I hate noise and parties.

On a normal day I also hate noise and parties, some of my friends would usually say that I'm boring because I'm always indoors, but I love playing music on a room level or from my earphones and dancing in the comfort of my home... And as a Limpopian, lekompo music is more than just music for me, it's a Limpopian culture... I wouldn't have ever thought one day I'd see myself crossing provinces in the middle of the night just for music because I've never done it with amapiano or any other genre... But here I am today...😅😅😅... I thought I was worse, until I found out that some flew in from other provinces as well...😂😂😂

I didn't try, I did... It wasn't the first and it's surely not the last... When it's time for danger to find you, it can even locate you from the comfort of your home and honestly, I prefer driving long distances during the night than during the day because there's more traffic during the day.

Though it is true.. but you don't see danger and still move ahead thinking all man shall die one day.

When you say "you don't see danger and still move ahead", I don't know what you're talking about because a robbery can happen to anyone at any time of the day... If you're meant to be robbed, you will be robbed whether day or night.

Have you ever even been to SA before for you to conclude that there's danger everywhere?

It's like me assuming that there's terrorism all over Nigeria... Every crime has got its own hotspots, you just need to avoid those areas.
