Well regarding student visa, there is nothing really new that has not been shared on this page and the 'giving birth in brazil page'. However, there is a mistake most people make, which is about certificate authentication. Its either you do so at the Ministry of Education and Foreign affairs or you use any of the designated Notary Publics. But using the notary public is cheaper and easier. Also if you are married and have plans to take your wife or family, its advisable you authenticate your marriage certificate in lieu of you birth cert at the embassy.

The entire process is to upload your documents here https://formulario-mre.serpro.gov.br/sci/pages/web/ui/#/cidadao-nacionalidade

then book an appointment for the VITEM IV at the e-consular page

Then you also book an appointment for the embassy authentication at the e-consular page

Although the embassy gets back to you if your documents are not complete but what I have noticed is, because of the large entries they receive, once documents are incomplete, they move it aside until they have a pool of incomplete entries and then they send them a generic message. This extends the response time regarding visa decision.

The current right procedure is to authenticate your documents at ministry of education and foreign affairs, you can't substitute that with the notarization at the notary publics.

Even the notary publics will tell you to authenticate at the ministry first before they can notarize it.

Only the authentication at ministry suffices.

Those who wants to legalize their documents at the embassy are those that might need to notarize( not even compulsory).

For admissions in Brazil, all you need first is an admission. One advise again could be to check for institutions in the North or Northeast. However, you might end up being one of the few Nigerians or foreigners you will find there, but that still isnt a problem. Why is because there are not so much rush for those places.

With that being said, regarding your visa application, you dont need to be bogus about your documents most especially the bank statement. Most often, as a postgraduate, you would get a scholarship so puting a statement of account is just to fulfil all righteousness. I know of someone who got the GCUB and she did not provide a statement of account and she was granted. But then, na different head we get abi?

Also, you can apply for your family at the same time with yourself. I got for my wife at the same time with mine even without a scholarship.

So if you dont have a scholarship, dont bother. I got mine after 2 months of arriving here. So dont panic, everything will work out fine.

Like I have said before, you can do this yourself so no let someone call pawpaw big mango for you o.

I was told by people in Brazil that you could send your money straight from Brazil banks to Nigerian bank.
You can send money to a Nigerian account through the wise app and the money will be received immediately, but the charges are quite high tho
Re: Study In Brazil: Admissions And Visa Procedures by TadeDetule:
Well I think its cheaper compared to using a vendor or money transfer like moneygram. Revolut is cheaper but does not allow for int transfers.

Congratulations, Did you write Celprebas before applying for admission? Or you can apply for admission without it?
Re: Study In Brazil: Admissions And Visa Procedures by SugarPg(m): 1:45pm On Apr 22, 2025
Celprebras is required for undergraduate admission, it is not required for Msc/PhD studies.

Congratulations to you. More Grace

The timeline never exceed 30 days. Hope you got your CPF and documents legalized at the same time?
What's the proof of funds limit?
Any physical presence or interview session at the Consular?

Also, on flight reservations and accommodations which website do you use?

At what cost for reservations?

Can you shed more light on the procedure to applying together with one's family?
I have gotten a letter from the graduate coordinator tho, but I still don't know how to go about it. NO Scholarship yet.

you will do well brother by using google.

lets try to make self efforts. The university websites are open try and ask them questions.

To begin, google up the university and visit the department of interest. Search for their departmental emails through the 'contact u. icon and ask them any question you have. Start by introducing yourself, inform them of your interest then present what you think is the predicament, like in your case, ask them if they accept HND. Then try attaching your transcript.

Yes, I did some research and I found some schools but what I haven't done is contact them probably because I didn't see any info about them accepting it but I'll take your suggestion and contact them
