Tinubu is more interested in settling politicians than getting results. Apart from being a former governor, Mohammed Badaru has never done anything related to defence in his life. So, nobody should expect any results from him.

He got the portfolio based on his state he won for Tinubu and not any known expertise in defence or security
That said, he's a political head so he doesn't need to be technically adept to run policy at the ministry

So minister of defence is now the position responsible for internal security according to zombidients. Internal security is the prerogative of the police and not the defence ministry or military. Community policing is the way forward.

His job is not to defend himself against attack. He is just a political administrator and member of FEC.

In fact some have argued whether we need a defence minister in the first place since most of his functions - budgeting and coordination of responses to external threats - are largely being done by CDS.
