This tells me Giannis and Tatum need to find new homes grin
Maybe Giannis. Tatum just needs to be consistent and stop having many off nights.
If Tatum can deliver the sort of stats SGA/Jokic/Giannis dropped this season I think he'd get the MVP.

Well, till 2026/2027 for Tatum. Hopefully he comes back sharp.

Game 1 and 2 of the WCF has ended with blowouts.
Looking like it is going to be a sweep or gentleman sweep from the OKC.

I really would like to see him in a different system. I feel like we are only seeing half of what he really is - all this assuming he comes back 100% after injury

No. He has never been inconsistent since he became a star.

As a Celtics fan, I don't want to imagine Tatum playing for another franchise.
We love him here.

But isn’t that how the Knicks have played all season, especially in the final minutes of games?

They are heavy on Brunson ISOs. They are not exactly doing anything different from what they have done all postseason.

While the Knicks have better players, I believe the Pacers have a deeper roster with better 1v1 ball defenders. They also play a style that exposes the Knicks.
More like exposes the Knicks coach. They could lose this series, on the strength of Carlisle being a better student of the game than Tibs

Are you watching their ISO heavy offense with Brunson? There is no strategy here for the Knicks, it is just too predictable.

Pacers landing Siakam has been such a gamechanger.

Seems he's living up to the agenda I was pushing that year

I like this McConnell chap so much. The perfect backup PG any team can dream of
Re: The NBA Begins by Roland17(m): 3:12am On May 24, 2025
The Knicks having Brunson take all the shots or constantly run the shot clock down with excessive dribbling isn’t going to help them.
Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 3:54am On May 24, 2025
Poor Knicks. Late Brunson error there ultimately ruined their chances at a comeback.

Can't see how they win 4 of the next 5 especially with Carlisle in cruise control and running circles round Thibs
Re: The NBA Begins by greypencils: 4:27am On May 24, 2025
OKC had better be careful. They should take no chances with these Pacers. They look like a fluke, they are proving themselves not to be.

OKC - Pacers finals already

🔥

One of this two would win their first title

But this is on the coach isn’t it?

Tibs has never been accused of creative genius.

Of course, but this is how they have played all season. It’s not like this is some sort of new strategy for the Knicks.

Now, Carlisle is only saying, I will allow Brunson get his points, if that is what you want but no one else is beating me.

Oh ok. Yes, the Knicks are only staying true to character. The Pacers are just making them pay dearly for it.

How did Steph Curry sneak into All-NBA second team? huh And who are those two people who voted him first team? I want to know who they are. Imagine Steph having more first team votes than Mobley.

No other player in NBA history has made all-NBA more than 15 times. LeBron has made it 21 times.

Insane length of peak

I didnt bother because I feared the inevitable. Tibs, like his mentor JVG have a fundamental coaching issue that they refused to budge on. They both believe stellar defense is really what you need to win. That the offense will take care of itself if you play great defense. Hence the predictable looking offense. Rockets had prime Yao and Tmac and top 3 league defense, but out offense was easy to figure out. JVG was the coach, with his able assistant Tom Thibodeau. Our defensive rating would be like 3 or 4th in the league, but our offense was always like #15 out of 30. With Tmac and Yao! angry angry angry

Do I still sound pained? No. In fact I have "forgiven" them grin

Agreed. Again, I think he should write a book or podcast or something, pass this knowledge down.

This is a lot of wailing on a hot Saturday fam! No way have you forgotten or forgiven JVG and Tibbs grin

Sometimes, I feel like TMAC’s prime was wasted. In the coming decade or two, I don’t think he would be much revered or talked about and it would not be because he wasn’t great but he didn’t get much out of his prime.

Its like the 4 minute mile. Once one man broke the mental barrier, everyone started doing it. Even now there are 60, 70 year olds that move like they in their 30s and 40s. I wont be surprised if some of these young cats play 15, 20years in the league as well

Playing 20 years is not the question. The question is can you be in your prime for the entire 20 years? grin
