The economy of asaba is a superficial one. It is a bubble that was blown out of proportion by yahoo boys and girls. If you clamp down on them things will return to normal but the government has no will to do so.

yes bro the people of that state from my father's second wife to the neighbours I once shared my compound with, they aren't a good fellow, they can be extremely hostile I must tell you. My dad's second wife was a pure and undiluted winch to say the least.

Have you tried Abuja port Harcourt n akwa ibom
Apart from Akwa Ibom, Abuja and Port-harcourt are more expensive than Asaba. Where Asaba gets it bad is the lack of stable and good jobs.

My brother, everything has skyrocketed over the last 2 years. There is an hotel i do pay 12k per night on lagos and it is very lovely. The price has been increased to 15k
I am curious, where in Lagos is that hotel situated in?

Thank you.

Yeah Asaba seems to be a cool calm place, enjoyable when there is money in the pocket. Transportation is expensive especially as they buy fuel at more cost than Lagos. Average bolt ride cost me 10k ie from airport to hotel. I visited a couple of times last year.
As per hotel yes they seem quite pricey for what you can easily get in Lagos for less especially for the average - 1 to 1 star hotel. I think you get a better bargain for higher end hotels. Eg my hotel if choice is best western elomaz on dbs road, a bargain considering staying in a hotel if that standard in Lagos. I use to pay 55k last year for one of the entry level rooms, omo the pool side is where all the correct chicks from all over the SE and beyond hangout (if you know what I mean). If no room at elomaz then spring hill hotel opposite elomaz is the next place of choice.
The good thing about those two hotels is their complimentary breakfast buffet, that saves you cost of feeding in the mornings.
For regular meals I go out to get authentic local chops at mamas kitchen on dls road, a drop by chartered tricycle is 1k unlike when I was a novice and getting bolt ride for 5k lol.
Meals at mamas kitchen cost me like 4k with water, not bad compared to hotel food.
All in all, Asaba is not too bad expenses wise, to stay in a hotel like best western in Lagos, you likely will cough out well over 150k.
Thanks for this detailed post.

Bro when u want to do comparison u do with tinx amongst the common people on the street and not Children school fees. Who knows the kind of school ur brothers children goes to that u will be using it to do comparison. There are expensive private schools everywhere most especially in Southen Nigeria, Ur brother feel he is capable of affording one that's why he put his children there. There are private schools in Asaba that will still be more expensive than the one ur brother's children are going to.
The most expensive secondary schools in Nigeria, and as you stated, in southern Nigeria, are in Lagos and a few in Abuja.

If u are doing comparison of places u do with road side where the common people are mainly found and not place where big big men are found. Getting a plate of food or other basic amenities on the road side in Asaba is much expensive than that of lekki.
Fair argument, but the bold needs a balanced and accurate assessment. I doubt the price of food in Asaba would be more expensive than tax suffocated Lekki. Do you know that Lagos charges a consumption tax? Is there a consumption tax in Delta?

Oh interesting.

Lol the secluded life nor do you well indeed.

That is true. I laughed when you were swayed by IG pictures of the current state of Nigeria. People don't post their failures on Instagram, that's not what it is meant for.
