I just tend to occasionally experience this passion for mbbs time to time. I haven't told my parents about it though. I am waiting for NYSC program presently. What do you all think Docs? And am also not sure if my parents will be convinced. Am considering BUK.

1. Why did you wait till graduation before having the courage to want to walk this walk? Were you forbidden from sitting the UTME?

2. If your parents are not paying for the medicine degree, I don't really think they should be bothered about this your decision

3. BUK pays more than 200k in fees for MBBS/BDS, have you thought hard enough about raising the fees?

Laptop is good but it is not really necessary. In all she should make sure to master her slides and use textbooks for reference and further understanding. Its UNEC right? She should be very fast when studying because time is very short and of essence. She should study very well there is no time.

In very few words, go for it. It would come with challenges but you'd be fine at the end of the day. 29 is not old.

I believe NELFund can sort out the fees, what you should be bothered about is upkeep while studying.

Where there's the will, there would be a way, you should focus on gaining the admission first.

Checkout the environs of the university you intend attending. You should be able to have many hustling options. Universities in bigger cities would be fine

You'd have to consider writing the UTME. Last I checked to be considered for admission into Medicine via DE, you should have a first degree in any of the Basic Medical Sciences or Nursing.

An MSc, while laudable, is not considered as a criteria for admission into Medicine.

Botany seems a bit far, but this is me just saying. I know of schools that take Biology...

Only way is to have someone physically go check it out for you in the college. If you are close to the school, visit and find out.

Since u r a fresher, u will resume 100L studying the basic sciences I.e physics, chemistry and biology, maybe maths (we don't do maths in unilorin). Then u spend the next two years (the preclinical years) studying the basic medical sciences I.e anatomy, physiology and biochenistry. In unilorin, we also do a bit of behavioural sciences, microbiology, epidemiology and a WHO program called COBES.

Now, when u get to 400L, you will do harder basic sciences: pathology and pharmacology, but u will also be introduced to the clinical sciences: medicine surgery, paediatrics and obstetrics and gynaecology. Finally in your last two years, yow will deal with only clinical sciences, including the surgical specialties, community health and psychiatry. Making a total of 6yrs.

After graduation, u will be pre-registered into the MDCN (medical and dental council of nigeria) and start your housemanship for one full year (don't worry, u will be paid salary), then you will go for service, but be preparing to write your primaries exam, in order for u to specialize in your place of interest I.e surgery, am I correct

Mortuary Science, am I reading this right? In Nigeria, no University offers that as a course. The closest you would get to that is Human Anatomy.

Mortuary Technician is what is obtainable in Nigeria
