You want to know why we finished 15th?

— We conceded only 7 more goals than Newcastle, yet they scored 24 more than us.

— We conceded only 3 more goals than Aston Villa, yet they scored 14 more than us.

Newcastle finished 5th. Villa came 6th. And United? 15th.

The reason is simple: our forwards couldn’t score.

A lack of quality up front, combined with INEOS’ baffling decision to offload two attackers in January without replacements, left Amorim looking like a clown.

With Cunha, Mbeumo, and possibly Gyökeres coming in, don’t be surprised when we’re fighting for top 4 next season.

Copied on Twitter… I implore everyone to read this.

If we sign Mbeumo and Gyokeres, we just need two CMs, one CB and a goalie if Onana leaves...Lindelöf, Eriksen, Casemiro, and Shaw should be released or sold.

For real and we will compete… I don’t know why the club isn’t ruthless enough or doesn’t care. Some players don’t deserve to be here anymore but they still steal a living staying here a long time without doing anything e.g Shaw, took time before we got rid of Phil jones etc. Casemiro self is on 350k omoh

We didn't get rid of Jones. The club just sat there and let his contract run out. From the time his contract got renewed during Ole's caretaker period to when it expired, he must have played like 2 games max. Those running this club into the ground can never see heaven

Imagine, its crazy for real. Serious clubs don’t do this. Its the reason we’re in rot and if something isn’t done fast nah championship we go meet ourself. Luke Shaw suppose don go since, Lindelof etc but here we’re lol

I expect this deal to be completed soon and then we move for a striker.

Dont be surprised if we dont sign a striker after signing Mbeumo.

The initial plan was Cunha, Delap and Mbuemo/Semenyo. We will definitely add a striker then outgoings will determine what position to focus on next.

I agree but I think there is a rethink due to Delap going to Chelsea. I dont believe the money will be there for a deal for a Gyokeres or Osimhem.

You don't think the potential sales of Garnacho, Hojlund, Anthony, Sancho, Rashford etc will offset the amount needed to get a Striker

I dont. unless its only those 3 players we want to sign this summer.

If we complete the signing of Mbeumo as its looking, and signs Gyokeres. We needed a GK more urgently, then a quality CB. With Mazraoui, Heaven, Yoro, Maguire, Deligt and Martinez returning in September. I think we are a bit more covered there.
The amount of points that Hojlund and Onana lost for us this season is atrocious.

I hear we wouldn't be going for a cb. He trusts Heaven.

Apart from the attack. Onana has also cost us points. We would have conceded less goals.
The 3 goals that we conceded vs Forest, a quality GK would have saved all of them.
The Spurs winning goal away by Maddison was on Onana.
The 2 last goals by Brighton at Home
The first goal by Palace at home.
This are just from the top of my head.

The 2 most important positions we need to address are striker and GK.
If you remember during Fergie days he would have kicked Onana out of Man Utd since last year, he doesn't just with Goalkeeping. One error, you are benched and from there you are gone.

Heaven is clearly quality. He is almost same age with Yoro and Huijsen who Madrid just got.
Remember when we get Mbeumo and Gyokeres. Amad will most likely be at RWB and there is also Dalot. Meaning that Mazraoui will be permanently at CB except extraordinary injuries

The wages are too big for buyers to take on, and most of our deadwoods are unwilling to leave, the reason why Hojlund, Garnacho and Antony are in transfer conversations is because they have lower wages. If not shaw and Casemiro are supposed to be sold immediately.

Go and check his stats for seasons before the 24/25 season. If we want to go for a merc, we target established ones especially for 60m. This guy might underperform for us and we would be back to this point next summer.

I am hoping Amorim won’t have him replace Rasmus upfront or top strike him with Rasmus in a 3-5-2, because I don’t believe we will sign a new striker after getting Mbeumo and Cunha. Anyways, if we are to sign the guy, should be for max of 40m.

Lindelöf and Evans are gone. I don't trust Shaw and Martinez to be fit for a full season so we need a fit CB who can play left of the back 3 or Central...I am also thinking of the fitness/availability of De Ligt, I don't want us to depend on Maguire, Yoro and Mazrouni as the ever-present for a season. However, if Amorim thinks Martinez and Shaw are options to trust, we can start the search for a goalie to replace Onana.

Casemiro can fetch us good 30m if we sound out to the Saudis. His wages is just too high.

Shaw should have his contract terminated or take a pay cut to stay.
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by patrickmuf(m): 3:07pm On Jun 06, 2025
We should be buying and selling. The problem with buying before selling is that teams will approach us to buy players who are surplus to requirements for less than their value because they know we are desperate to get rid of the players...

Rashford, Antony, Sancho, Casemiro, Maguire, Hojlund, Garnacho...It's just too quiet...

I doubt they will sign a CB this transfer window. That's the only wing that we are decently covered.

Replacing Onana should be a priority after getting a striker

The board shouldn't show desperation by chasing this deal if Brentford want to play hard ball, otherwise we may end up paying like £100m on him like we did for Antony. Other players are available and maybe cheaper too...

I really don't understand him. As a fan, he should be happy the club is going after players who have shown they can do it in a team that's not all that. You Wolves and Brentford play and you easily notice that they don't have the best players to compete for top honors but then again, anytime you watch them, you notice Cunha and Mbeumo almost always show up no matter the opposition...That's why I am impressed...

INEOS will walk away if Brentford prices him over their valuation. We did the same with Braithwaith. The deal will be completed for 55m plus 5 as add ons which Brentford want.

There's no where you will sign a winger coming on the back of a season after scoring 20league goals and providing 7assist in a top league like England for 40m. Sesko and ekitike with 13 and 14league goals in bundesliga are being prized for 70 to 80million. Let's be realistic for once.

As for his stats the upper season he had 9goals and 6 assist in 25games. Those are good stats for a winger at Brentford. What you will notice is constant progression and he might just be entering his prime.
