A 68-year-old American woman and her 25-year-old Nigerian lover have shared their love journey in a now-viral video. According to them, she is 43 years older than her partner.

Explaining how they met, the couple revealed that their relationship began on Facebook. The Nigerian man had liked a post the American woman shared, and from there, their communication began.

Speaking about the experience, she said, “He went from somebody that liked my post to my very best friend; it just kept getting stronger and stronger. I woke up one day wanting to go to Nigeria; I woke up from a dream, and all I wanted was to go to Nigeria. So, I told my sister, and she said, ‘Oh, you're crazy. Why do you want to go to Nigeria?’ And I said, ‘I don't know.’ I was having trouble figuring out how to get a visa, and he offered to do it for me.”

The Nigerian lover then explained, “I went to immigration and paid for her visa, which is $350, and booked her flight ticket. Then she came.”

The joyful American woman added, “When he showed up at the airport to get me, he was like, ‘Oh my God, you are real! You are really here! This is not a scam!’ We got to the motel room, then three days later, he proposed to me.”

Reacting to the video, Nigerians expressed mixed opinions.

Won't mock him. Although, na mumu dey grant press. If she manages to bring him over, that’s still better than remaining in poverty like many of his peers back in Nigeria who think making 500k a month is a sign of good living. If you’re 35 with no asset, no steady income, no kids, still blaming government and no savings despite being educated, it’s time to rethink your choices and drop some of those silly beliefs that keep holding you back. Even if the relationship doesn’t work out, I believe the guy will be smart enough to come away with something valuable. It’s still progress, and someday he can tell his grandkids about the sacrifices he made for them. Don’t go blaming God for your failures. Maybe it’s just that you haven’t adopted the mindset that helps people succeed especially when things get tough.
