This is wonderful. Obidients' favourite governor is indirectly saying that Peter Obi is a weakling who doesn't have the liver to take tough decisions for Nigeria's benefit.
obi is not in office. tinubu is.

how has tinubu "taken tough decisions" to successfully tackle corruption, nepotism, cronyism, hunger, unemployment, hardship, poverty, inflation, wasteful government spending, budget padding, insecurity, bad governance, failing public infrastructure, poor medial services and falling standard of education?

Of course since it is to your benefit
Even Adams Oshiomole who used to shutdown Nigeria with strikes when he was NLC President supported subsidy removal as Governor

Even Tinubu himself once organized and supported protest against subsidy removal. Today he is beating his chest that he removed subsidy
Can you ever reason maturely? Why won't subsidy removal be beneficial to sincere and competent Governors, who truly wish to deliver for their people, by providing them with vastly more cash to work with that was previously been stolen by rapacious opportunists and enemies of Nigeria's progress in the private, political and business sector?

You are too far gone in hatred of individuals to ever be redeemed. I doubt you will ever be capable of seeing the big and progressive picture.

The huge money the government gets from stamp duty is more than the fuel subsidy. The FG still pays fuel subsidy through the back door.

So, the appreciation should go to Buhari and the 8th National Assembly for huge allocations to the States
Tax revenue of which stamp duty is a part
252 billion(2024)..not correct.below is the right value

Stamp duty revenue is 1 trillion annually.

Fuel subsidy for the first six months of 2023 was 6 trillion naira.

Also, NNPC still gets large sums of money from the government revenue to pay for the subsidy debts it incurred from buhari forcing them to subsidize fuel from 2016-2023, something tinubu continued from 2023oct until the middle of 2024. That's not subsidy, that's the money still owed NNPC from the period of subsidy. A sign that even at the height of subsidy we still owed a lot of subsidy money

He stands with tinubu in terms of subsidy without trying to pull down his brother unlike soludo.

Sometime I feel like soludo is envious of Peter Obi .

How did he end fuel subsidy and at what cost ?

I mean the Tinubu govt paid subsidy till 2024 November and might even be paying quietly as we speak
Propaganda. You mean that an opposition governor will support the government contrary to facts?

Obi did say he would remove subsidy.

And he would have. By August 2022, it was so obviously obvious that subsidy was no longer sustainable.

At that point government could not even pay NNPC for the losses it incurred in subsidizing fuel for Nigeria anymore. Up till today those losses are being paid for from government money.

Nothing like liver or leever. If obi won and kept subsidy, in a year Nigeria would have been like Sri Lanka when it ran out of money. He knew that, his financial people knew too

Yeah because our budget was based on oil remaining above 75 dollars per barrel this year. Oil revenue is 80% of our budget

Oil has been between 60-70 dollars since January this year. Last month it even went below 60 dollars

Only options left are borrowing , borrowing or government takes half your income in taxes. States can take the remaining 40% and leave you with 10% of your incomes

You will be angry so borrowing it is

It gets even scarier when you learn our fiscal break even oil price is above 100 dollars per barrel. That's where we need it to have to not borrow. Even at 75 dollars per barrel, the government was going to borrow 13 trillion naira to finance part of the budget

That has been the way since independence. We won't do what the Chinese and Koreans did to go from borrowers to lenders. Industrialization and diversification

Lol. Just watch as Otti becomes persona non grata, an abomination and "efulefu" to them.

Never known a people so irredeemablly entrenched in politics of hatred and intolerance.

If you are with them, you must never praise anything their sworn enemy does even if such is highly laudable and immensely improves their own lives and that of their generations unborn.

Yet they forget politics should be a vehicle for delivering good governance to the people and not blind messiah worship or a desire to get revenge against others
Who is guilty of blind messiah worship more then APC riffraffs like you?

See who dey talk.

Well-said bro. Vastly greater sum of money made available to governors, to run the affairs of their States, is a great thing.

It is now left for indigenes of States to demand more accountability and improved standards of living rather than shouting Tinubu up and down.

Just like your beloved tinubu did so until he was forced by circumstances to call for subsidy removal.

Are you saying Tinubu was an incompetent and insincere gov when he opposed subsidy removal? Besides, since Tinubu has always been a master strategist, why was he opposing subsidy removal in 2012 and even wrote an article against it? Was he insincere and incompetent or a rapacious opportunist and enemy of Nigeria's progress?

Because thanks to subsidy we wrecked our domestic refining sector.

I mean Venezuela has subsidy. Fuel costs 10 per liter. They also lost their refining capacity and incurred huge debts. ( And before you blame sanctions, Russia and china do business there. But they won't intervene in their refining sector because subsidy has wrecked it)

Dangote can meet half of our needs as is. His refinery was planned to go into full capacity by 2030 at the earliest. So we import.

But the thing is decades of subsidy wrecked not only refining, but also prevented investment in the oil industry as a whole. Who wants to invest in an industry where subsidy means losses. That's why oil production has been godawful for over 10 years. And why we had gas flaring for decades.

Also the petrol imported is substandard. If they imported standard, Dangote would beat them into the mud. Standard petrol imports would start from 1000 at the pump

When Otti talk: Thanks should go to Buhari
