I think that Nigerians have abused this POP thing. Too many quacks now parade themselves as POP finisher.

Looks like quacks have taken over the POP installation sector. Safety an standards are rarely complied to as long as the owner is willing to pay.

The truth is, most POP ceiling failures are not due to the material itself, but rather the result of improper installation, particularly under decking. Many installers fail to follow the correct procedures, leading to a weakened structure that's susceptible to collapse.
When installers don't adhere to best practices, the POP ceiling can become detached from the decking, causing it to fall. Additionally, using excessive materials can put undue stress on the structure, leading to failure.


If you must use the pop designs for your ceiling, you must do it right and if that will be a problem, opt for other options like Polystyrene, which offers same aesthetic as POP and is alot safer.

Carrying him like that is not safety conscious at all.

The young man was crying and complaining about his legs where he obviously sustained injuries yet those people still lifted him by his legs!!!

Ignorance, nonchalance, lack of basic first aid, a medical system that’s not functioning all missing from the video.

If organised medical system were in place, they would’ve called the paramedics to take care of this boy after getting rid of the dangerous objects.

2. Bad workmanship

I’ll rather use my normal ceilings or decking than call one POP installer to install rubbish in my house.

Why did they have to carry him like that? Anyways I pray he is fine ...

So many jobless y ok Young men now say they're tilers and POP installers and them there are also too many substandard gypsum and other POP materials out there......the landlords and builders also use inadequate materials in most new POP ceilings especially the wooden joists

It is not anything to do with the person who did the pop being quack.
Avoid doing pop on deckings .Thr is hardly any original/good concrete nails again in the market. The nails don't really penetrate the concrete this days without bending so they use short nails. And when they do penetrate they rust within short space .And after sometimes the weight of the pop pulls it down.Just do only screeding on decked wall to avoid accidents.
Do pop on only good woods that can carry the load.Pop are heavy load.Then make sure the woods for pop are not under the rafters. They should be on top of the rafters to support the loads

PoP hazard is now a concern. Its like we will go back to ceiling board and PVC ceilings for our safety.
