Agbero Dragging Steering With Car Driver Causes Terrible Accident, One Dies, Many Injured

A terrible accident that occurred on Monday, 16th June, 2025 at Uloho Avenue junction in Ughelli, Delta State has claimed the life of an 11-year-old boy and left many injured.

According to eyewitnesses, the car driver was driving against traffic which drew the attention of Agberos stationed as Task Force against motorists taking one way.

The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle and ran into the 11-year-old boy, killing him instantly and injuring others including the driver that sustained serious head injuries.

It was gathered that the Agbero was almost mobbed if not for the quick intervention of policemen that whisked him away.

Agbero has become a nationwide menace in Nigeria. I think Abuja and PH are the only places where the madness is low.

They are out for extortion and nothing more. They don't coordinate commercial vehicles. They don't secure passengers. They are even the major vandalizers of passengers' luggage. But what else is expected when politicians give them the power as settlement for thuggery.

The "agbero" was doing his job! Not like he was trying to extort the driver. The lunatic driver was driving on the wrong lane, risking lives and eventually ran into an 11 year old boy killing him. Just last month, one idiotic father endangered the lives of his children by driving on the wrong lane leading to the death of one of them. People should stop risking lives and drive on the right lane! I totally agree with LASTMA for putting such offenders through compulsory mental evaluation and counselling which they must pay for. Too many crazy people behind the wheels.

Well 2years ago,I was chased by police for good 30mins. I later doubles crossed them and drove one way at top speed, I escaped. On my way home by 6pm .there was traffic n due to the trauma I couldn't risk it,I drove one way again with my drivers door wide open, funny enuf it was on a Friday just along a police station road.that day,the devil tool over me and I was ready to die..las las I still escaped,BT the time police saw me,I was long gone.i had to abandon the car for 8months as word on the street waszthey were looking for the driver and my car. Hahaha.i too love naija abeg. I felt like a mopol that day. Untouchable, unstoppable

But he went about doing the job in a wrong way. Two wrongs do not make a right. Besides, when did Agberos become Road Safety? Will road safety corps drag steering with traffic offender in that manner to the point of causing accident?

You started wrongly but ended well. It is not the agbero's job to forcefully hold on the steering of a driver to prevent him from driving on the wrong lane.

Thats the job of DESTMA and not to hold the steering but to block the driver. However they are parked at Ekpan Link Road traffic light to extort drivers for crossing white line.
