Hello house

Many people want to travel out of this country come and see a lot of people at Vfs center yesterday that I went for biometric it was cloudy yesterday. I cannot believe what I saw ,as many people were also coming for collections.collection is greater than submission.
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by bjay08: 2:55pm On Jun 18, 2025
I recently applied for my mum to travel to the UK but her visa was denied. Though I noted some errors in the refusal documents, but I just want to find out if PAP will be a good step to take.

You have stated that you are travelling to the UK for 1 month and 11 days to visit
your family. I have considered the documents provided and written statements you
have made, but I am not satisfied you have met the requirements of the Immigration
Rules on this occasion. You have stated that you are retired and receive an annual
pension of 1422962.04 NGN (£679.40). You have also stated that you intend to
spend 1500000 NGN (£716.18) on your trip (£1 = 2,094.44 NGN Oanda 16.06.2025). - She has a savings of over 4.5 million
• In support of your application you have provided a UK sponsor invitation, pension
document and Polaris bank statement containing your name dated November 2024
to April 2025 displaying a closing balance of 4178138.28 NGN (£1,994.87).
An error here as the Polaris pension account balance is 400k+ and the first bank savings statement is 4.1m....
I have considered not only those documents stated above but all of the documents you
have provided regarding your circumstances.
• You have provided a bank statement from Polaris bank. However, there appears to
be deposits within the account not in line with your declared pension income per your
application form and whilst I acknowledge the presence of what appear to be pension
deposits the origins of the other deposits, some of which are large, are unclear. there are no large deposits, just basically increments on the pension and arrear paid. The largest deposit is 80k , others are pension increments "
The
documents and information you have submitted in support of your application
indicate significant differences between actual income and the income stated on your
VAF, you have declared no additional income and due to these discrepancies and
based on the documents submitted and information available your personal and
financial circumstances do not appear to be as stated.again an oversight by the ECO as the Polaris account balance was completely disregarded
• I have considered the documents and information you have provided about your
personal and economic circumstances. You have stated you are visiting the UK to
visit family and thus have demonstrated strong family ties to the UK. However from
the information provided it does not appear that you have any remaining family ties in
Nigeria to return to
I included my father and two of her children still here
and whilst I acknowledge you have provided an affidavit to
declare you own property this is not accompanied by official ownership documents
issued by the authorities to confirm this declaration. must C/o be attached here?

Good evening, People.

Is an appointment required to pick up one's passport from the VAC?

Based on their email, customers must present their digital receipt, evidence of identity and QR code at the security point.

Can someone kindly clarify what this digital receipt and QR code is? Apologies if this has been answered previously.

Thank you. Daalu. Nagode. Eshey!

@bjay08

If I’m understanding your write-up correctly, the ECO mistakenly claimed the balance in the First Bank account as that of the Polaris account. They did not realize that you submitted two bank statements from two different banks. Even if that’s the case, I don’t think that error is enough to have your mother’s visa refusal overturned.

According to you, if the ECO had looked only at the Polaris account with 400k, they would have seen only pension payments consistent with what was declared on the VAF. While that might be true for the Polaris, what about the 4.1 million in the First Bank savings account that you submitted? Where did that money come from? Was proof submitted for the origin of those funds?

I think this is a case where, yes, the ECO made a mistake, but if you complain or file a PAP, they would probably deny it again and send you a better-worded refusal letter.

it's her savings account over the years, she is retired...it was a 6 months statement. Nov to April..Or would it have been better as a one year statement? She moved the bulk of her savings to First bank after all the Skye bank problems awhile back.

In those six months, were there any credits to the First Bank account? How about debits? If yes, was this consistent with the income and expenses declared on the VAF? If no, then that’s a mistake on your part.

If the First Bank account had no extraneous credits/debits, and the Polaris account had only pension credits, and the debits to the Polaris matches what’s on the VAF, then you can file a complaint. Explain clearly the mix up with the accounts. You can also add the part about your father and siblings that they omitted.

A better advice for you is the following:

Wait till the end of the year and reapply for your mother. If you are fully sponsoring her, then present only the Polaris Bank account statement. Three months is enough. Declare her as retired. Let the only credits to the account be her pension and nothing else. Ditch the First Bank account.

For your father and siblings, submit their passport data pages, birth certificates for the siblings, and a consent letter from your father. Also submit a marriage certificate, if one exists. For the property documents, add original deeds from the government. If they are missing, then don’t mention them at all in the visa application.

If you do that, and if your own bank account as a sponsor is clean, then she has a high chance of getting the visa when she reapplies.

Hi All,

Please I intend to submit my parents UK visitor visa and I need your opinions.
My dad is the sponsor of their trip. He will be using it company bank acc statement which is the sole signatory to. ( note company was registered under just dad, mum and my siblings names) .
My confusion is whether it’s necessary to add TAX clearance certificate? He has one but he doesn’t declare his real earnings which many conflict with the figures on his bank statement. Does this really matterhuh or can I submit only CAC documents and proof of contracts he does.

Lastly my mum is just a house wife and one of company director , it was stated that my father will be fully sponsoring the trip, is there need to add her bank statement ( no much funds) ? Or any necessary thing to do.

I see you finally submitted your application.

Wishing you a successful outcome.

Kindly help with insight @giselle237 and Cashmadam.

I applied for visit visa, ECO singled out my employers account balance and erroneously claim it was low by assuming the account was a Naira account, when it was clearly stated on face of the statement that the account is domiciled in USD(this was stated in my LOE). My own balance is actually more than 1k USD, i only added employer’s account as this is a work sponsored trip.

My immigration history, i just returned from the US last month and going back next month, facts which were submitted, I have 10yr canadian visa, i have sent email to home office, but my concern is the generic email response i got from UKVI for the paid mail, but i really want to correct this error as this is my second refusal, i had first refusal last year b4 US, Canada and Schengen Visa. So i am not about to just let this slide, i want to understand the PAP process please.
Visa Issued.

June 9: Erroneous Decision

June 9: Numerous mails sent to UKVI & Home Ofiice

June 9: Submitted a PAP, my complaint to multiple channels including physical letters to Home office.

June 9: Got E-mail reponse from UKVI that my decision have no right to appeal or administrative review.

June 11: Got Mail from VFS to come collect my passport

June 13: Collected my passport from VFS

June 16: Got another mail from Home Office, that “my complaint has been considered and as detailed in my decision letter i have no right to appeal or administrative review” and other generic bla bla bla and i should apply again.

June 16: i replied again that their error must be acknowledged and i have no intention in submitting to a defective process., i also added that they need not review or overturn the visa decision but error must be acknowledged.

June 17: Phone call and follow up Mail from British High Commission, Abuja requesting for my passport.

June 18: I submitted around 12PM.

June 19: I was called around 11AM and i picked up my passport shortly after with the visa vignette in it.

Thanks everyone for your inputs, @cashmadam, @giselle237 @Militio @davodyguy @America001, i really appreciate.

@tyrant25 they responded first on 11th, then 16th, however there were lots of back and forth.

Good day all,
The following email was received about a week ago:

"We are unable to make a decision on your application within published visa processing times. For up-to-date information on processing times, visit .

Do not contact UK Visa and Immigration, we will contact you if we require more information.

Please be assured that we will continue to progress your application to make a decision as soon as possible.
Your visa application may take longer to process, if for example:

• the information in your application is not accurate or requires further consideration
• you need to provide further evidence, for example evidence of funds
• your supporting documents need to be verified
• you need to attend an interview
• further information is required on your personal circumstances (for example if you have a criminal conviction)
• UKVI is experiencing increased visa demand

UK Visa and Immigration"

I would like to know if anyone else has received such before. If yes, does it really mean anything, as per a subtle indication of something?
It has been about 3 weeks / some 18 working days since appointment.
Answers are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Oga giselle, adequate funds dey. The whole idea of splitting the budget was just so my wife and I could both be represented. Either of us could have done it as we both work full time and the account statements we each provided attested to that so I don’t think that would have been the problem.
On the other hand I know students and PSW holders who have combined funds to bring their parents and got the visa.
I genuinely don’t think that was the problem if not they would have mentioned it.
As for evidence and stuff, well there was no letter explaining the arrears but there was a payslip, stamped and issued by the pension board. I believe if we had asked for a letter she would have easily gotten one as she retired a senior civil servant and she has her ways.
I don’t like crying over spilled milk and I believe obtaining visa is a privilege not a right, I just wanted to touch on some of the points you mentioned.
Well done.
I told you I had a good case @giselle Denial overturned. A very good day for me and my family.
I don’t know if you remember this convo but I had to go back to highlight it.
Thanks for all you do on this forum, anyway.

You’re absolutely right. Human error is quite ubiquitous, participants in a process helps the efficiency of it, if bugs, mistakes etc are raised in order for it to be corrected.

I am sure some of these guys at the helm, appreciate when genuine and legitimate concern are raised, instead of making excuses for apparent clogs in the system.

For example, I would also appreciate if a junior at work finds a mistake in my instruction and calls my attention to it , rather than makes excuse for me and let the work gets out and portray incompetence.

Cheers sir! And Congratulations to you too and your family!
(No vex for my plenty talk 😁)
