AkinDS:
Quite a surprise decision, considering she speaks their local language fluently. Not sure what has changed, as she had previously committed to them.
Chioma Okafor also was nominated as a semi finalist for the Mac Hermann trophy this year (which Onyi Echegini won in 2024).
Wish her all the very best.
One of the reason I fancy about her is her Speed, is something we haves been lacking upfront, Her Speed and Strength can cause havoc from the Left Wing..

For example having Rash on the Right and someone like her on the Left is all about pace pace pace which we surely needed because Rash has been the only one giving us that upfront..

Sincerely not a terrible list overall.

My Observations

Not surprised Ordega made the list even though I would have preferred Gift Monday or Uchenna Kanu (not sure of her health status) over her. Folashade is the girl that graduated from Oshoala's academy if I remember correctly. Looking forward to seeing her justify her inclusion ahead of a Monday Gift.

Very surprised at the inclusion of Chioma Okafor, it however makes sense that she switched as she was probably promised a spot on the roster. Would have however preferred she be included in a prior friendly to at the very least fight for a spot. She's getting in too easy in my opinion. However rooting for her.

Is the Super Falcons moving on from Imuran? Is Usani objectively better than she is? Cause if she isn't, it would make a lot more sense to continue building with her than start a new project with Usani.

Finally, our goalkeepers department is officially in trouble. What is the point in inviting young goalkeepers for friendlies when you won't go with any of them?. How does Oluehi being in the team help our future goals? Also has Rachel Udoka ever made any camp? Please @deltamani kindly indicate if she has. Are the previous invited goalkeepers not good enough? Is she objectively better than they are?

NB: This isn't a critique on the coach's decision. I always believe coaches should be allowed to make up their roster as they see fit, and only be judged by their result. So our duty really is to support the team

Folashade Ijamilusi isn’t Asisat Oshoala Academy product but FC Robo, she have played for Nigeria at the U17, U20 and SuperFalcons level, currently 24yrs. Was supposed to be in the Squad for the 2018 U20 World Cup in France alongside Nnadozie, Rash, Ucheibe and Anam IMO, but missed out because of serious knee injury which kept her out for a long while..

She can play all positions upfront and a very fast player as well but hopefully she proves herself..

Monday Gift should be the surprise exclusion for sure… Kanu just returned from injury so I’m not surprised..

Miracle Usani is better than Imuran all round… She can play as a Fullback, left and Right back just like Faith Ikid.. Madugu got this right.

As for Chioma Okafor, I think she’s a good catch, I only do like her she plays like Tabitha Chawinga, a left footed forward who drives from the Left wing.. But again College Pace ain’t thesame as the pro level.. Let’s watch and see first… 23games, 10goals and 4 assists for her this past season..

Racheal was in goal during the Algeria friendly where she conceded that cheap goal while in post during the second game.. And I don’t think she’s better than the rest but not a bad choice among the Home based goalkeeper’s..

Maybe the NFF exercised oversight on the list cos its very good.

The inclusion of Ordega and the absence of Uchenna Kanu and Gift Monday is not enough for me to knock the list.

Madugu surprised me I ain't gonna lie.

I am happy over the inclusion of Folashade Ijamilusi... A very good forward I must.

I feel so emotional about this Chioma Okafor of a girl call up. Though partly a Nigerian, she lived most of her life in Malawi before going to the US. It would be natural for a player like that to choose her country of birth easily without been convinced, but here we are..... A good addition to our arsenal

Who would choose Malawi when you can easily go to AWCON with Nigeria, possibly win it, play in the World Cup and Olympics in no distant time? Choosing Malawi would have been a decision based purely on emotions not logic.

Tochukwu Oluehi should retire, I would have taken Faith Omilana. Not sure about Unachukwu sha
Francisca Ordega should retire. I would have taken Gift Monday ahead of her. Would also love to see Chiamaka Okwuchukwu.

Surprised to see Chinwendu Ihezuo, Chioma Okafor and no Uchenna Kanu. But I'm indifferent about all 3.

Everything na connection for Naija

How did Fran make this list ahead of Gift Monday?
What happened to Uchenna Kanu ?

Can anything be done for Nicole Payne?

Nicole Payne is injured.

Nigerians generally don't retire until they are unceremoniously pushed out. Ordega won't be the first, she'll continue to honour invites and sadly they'll continue to invite her.

Kanu apparently is just returning from injury. I know she hasn't played a lot of games for her club this season so not entirely surprised. The real surprise really is Gift Monday
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by daveP(m): 4:32pm On Jun 20, 2025
The other gks have never featured in goal in any serious friendly. Oluehi hasn't. Maybe Rachel. Ozioma of u17 is good gk. Perhaps that rule doesn't apply this time.
I don't understand the Rofiat exclusion. Herself and Usani should make the team but what do i know? The middle is the most balanced or satisfactory alrounda.

So from the back, this will be the last wafcon for 2 i want to believe. From the middle, maybe 1

From the Frontline, perhaps 2.

And the Small Chioma Okafor of a girl can as well be her Substitute to come in with her pace and power to run over already tired defenders from the Left Wing…

She’s left footed but uses both feet’s effectively.!

But again we shouldn’t forget Okoronkwo is there too, but who will start as no.9 at the WAFCON. Is going to be physical so ain’t starting Onumonu either.

Nicole Payne… ACL injury, stop taking us back and forth

Uchenna Kanu just recovered from injury so I’m not really so worried about her being dropped but again i would have preferred her to Chinwendu Ihezuo…

Monday Gift for Franny Ordega for sure, nothing like she’s offering experience because Asisat Oshoala is already there.!
