Our pressing is getting better as the match is progressing
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by PDPGuy: 7:46pm On Jun 23, 2025
From her performance so far in this match, it would be a miracle if Usani retains a starting spot at the WAFCON..

AndSunGorilla:
The girls are playing at a high tempo for Aunti Francesca, the younger girls should slow down the ball abeg, make dem respect dia elder.
Ordega was the hardest worker for me.

😂😂 Franny will be on the bench for the WAFCON sha
On a serious note, she has been getting into good positions towards the end of the half. Good runs and some good dribble to earn a CK as well.

Normal falcons performance against a decent side always looking drab and lethargic
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by GeneralDae: 7:51pm On Jun 23, 2025
Ordega doesn’t seem to be like a bad inclusion afterall.

...the left back is particularly weak, and the Portuguese have realized that, hence pilling of pressure via the left.
Weda Na low self esteem dey worry her Abi she no just sabi, Na she know.

Toni and JOE can only work against small teams. Madugu has to pick one and stop horsing around

or one of them has to drop in a double pivot with Ucheibe
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AndSunGorilla: 8:10pm On Jun 23, 2025
The midfield is non-existent.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by BascoVanVeli(m): 8:11pm On Jun 23, 2025
Both their chances have come from offside position
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by solonnachi: 8:12pm On Jun 23, 2025
Nnadozie is a blessing to Nigeria. What a talent 🙏

We have Deborah and Halimatu for that
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by KosiGee(m): 8:16pm On Jun 23, 2025
There’s only one serious player for the falcons in this match…the goal keeper Nnadozie. Others are confused.

Substitutions made

Onumono for Babajide
Ayinde for Echegini
Plumptre for Usani

E shock me. Our Nigerian Coaches at U17 and U20 level notoriously don't make subs till 80* minute and never full complement tongue grin

We're not playing too badly

Debbie isn't on the bench and yes Halimo has come in.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by AndSunGorilla: 8:32pm On Jun 23, 2025
Rashida fell badly, I think she should be subbed out as a preventive measure.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by PDPGuy: 8:39pm On Jun 23, 2025
I’m satisfied with thier overall pressing game in this second half. More of that please

Ordega hit the crossbar from there? Damn. Audacious strike.

Shukurat Oladipo at RB. Very decent player. Solid backup for Michelle Alozie.

Onumonu has been impressive since she came on. Shown her drive and physicality as well.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by KosiGee(m): 8:44pm On Jun 23, 2025
Introduction of Onumonu, Plumptre and Ayinde have improved their performance.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by TheSuperNerd(m): 8:45pm On Jun 23, 2025
Ordega ➡️ Onumonu fails to connect. Improved pass from Ordega who has worked really hard today on the whole, I no go lie.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by TheSuperNerd(m): 8:46pm On Jun 23, 2025
Halimatu Ayinde stepped in for Echegini and the midfield got some balance. Ucheibe and Ayinde remain the best synergy we have in the middle.

But damn... Deborah "Kante" Abiodun (who isnt featuring) is also starter material.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by KosiGee(m): 8:46pm On Jun 23, 2025
Atrocious errors like the one from Demehin shouldn’t be happening. Silly back passes like that and lack of spatial awareness shouldn’t be happening to a player like Demehin

Good cross from Frances, does she use both feet? I thought she is right footed, could playing on the left side affect her negatively?
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by PDPGuy: 8:48pm On Jun 23, 2025
The team has to cut down on unnecessary giveaways in the midfield, or else it could come back to bite us in Morocco..

Otherwise, I’m satisfied with the midfield’s 2nd half performance, as they’ve mostly stifled their Portuguese counterparts

She makes this kind of mistakes once in a while right from her u20 days but a good player overall especially in her long range passing from the back. She just has to improve on her level of concentration.
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by TheSuperNerd(m): 9:06pm On Jun 23, 2025
Ordega mostly favors her right foot but also uses her left when needed especially when cutting in from the right. She is ambipedal in certain plays. In her prime, she was very effective with both feet.... we just saw glimpses of it today.
