Unfortunately, reform can only bark loudest from outside, if they had the opportunity to become the political party of the day, at the helm of affairs.......

They would blame the weather, trump and immigrants, for lacklustre performances...... 🤣😂
aaah na you Dey cast reform like this 😂 e no good o are you no longer a patriot?

Reform has taken control of several councils in England. They've got the platform, the power, and the purse strings (at least locally). If they genuinely have better solutions to housing shortages, council tax burdens, or social care challenges, now’s their chance to prove it.

I expect the other parties to continually signpost the wider public to on-reform councils to demonstrate how radically better they are.

Iranians have been crossing the English channel in their tens of thousands since Covid. It's not a new phenomenon.

Thankfully I don't live anywhere near Dover, Clacton or any of the areas earmarked to house irregular migrants.

Also, Labour is proposing moving them out of hotels and into rental accommodation paid for by the government.
This makes little sense, but at this point , Labour is scraping the bottom of the barrel to find "results".

I expect they will up their rhetoric against legal migrants to compensate for the worsening illegal migration numbers as the election approaches.

The worst thing Starmar did was scrap the Rwanda plan without having something concrete on the ground as a deterrence.

Populism and progressivism, like oil and water, cannot mix.

As much as I loathe Reform and all they stand for
.Sometimes one part of me wants them to enter, at least as a coalition type govt Cameron style

So when they fail, anf fail woefully, we will see how the media propping them up will paint them or spin the failures

it's just that the cruelty that they will mete on vulnerable people makes me think twice

Hehe. Again, I'm not trying to convince you. You know yourself more than anyone and if you believe yourself to be inferior, then it's possible you're seeing something others are not. Where I draw the line is when you seek to extend that thought process to others.

By the way, if your daughter returns from school with torn clothes, reporting she was beaten up, and told she was of lower value- what would you do?
Where have I said I feel inferior?

Strawman argument + gaslighting.

You will be fine as you head to Canada. And maybe next will be USA and if it don’t suite you japa to AU.

At the end of the day you go still go back home.

I think they (reform) will enter cos politics in the uk is not that dynamic and it’s easier to predict than other climes but at the end like Oga Lexus said earlier they can only bark and not bite much but of course we may see a rise in citizens unrest and charge towards those they don’t want, may just be a cycle the country may have to go thru to continue to distract itself from the real issues like we see in the US. For Farage and gang it’s just about grabbing power.

So of what effect is the above suppose to imply lol?

I read your recent posts and if I recall, even quoted one or two, and the message didn't appear to be an empirical truth

National inquiry announced after maternity failings

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c994x95yygyo

Good news; this investigation is much needed, just like the inquiry into the grooming gangs.

Hopefully it will be transparent and robust and will lead to improved standards of care and outcomes for mothers, babies and families - and black women who have been identified as having worse pregnancy outcomes than white women (UK and globally)

The earlier you know your place the better. If you are not happy right to your MP and I’d like to see what that will get you. They are the majority and they will always have their way. ....
lavida001:
...Better just take what they give you. Don’t forget you said you came here because of your kids future.
Your quoted responses to people raising concerns on an issue that'd disproportionately affect them shows quite clearly how you think and where you believe your place is. Your proclivities are not new- in Nigeria, it'd take the form of 'go back to your village', 'you are not an indigene' e.t.c.. Like I said, I'm not looking to convince you.

Also go easy with the ad-hominem. The world is for living and I sure know my place in it.

Please do we have an idea if a UK Standard visit visa holder (NIgeria Passport) needs a transit visa coming into the UK when travelling through Dubai with the Emirates Airline.

The standard visa isnt an evisa (still same visa vignette) but reference on the emirates website only make reference to an evisa as a requirement for the Dubai transit visa.

Again they are the majority and they will surely have their way as long as it takes voting to decide outcome of leaders. If Una no like am make una vote to change things or write to your mp. This is the reality the reality of the day and not one being “inferior”

I end on this.

Erm no, that's not how it works. Location matters.

Do you think the government can afford to house tens of thousands of migrants in towns where 3 bed properties average >> £600k like many parts of the south east? Never mind the fierce opposition they would face from the residents of these areas (including MPs).

Nope, they strategically house them in much cheaper areas. They even tried to rehouse the survivors of the tragic 2017 Grenfell fire away from Kensington and even London, because the Grenfell site is prime real estate and the council saw an opportunity to tear it down and privatise it instead of retaining it for social housing use.
Zahra… Have a look at this.. Though it appears locals are not happy..

The figure is coming closer to the £600k you mentioned.

in Hull which apparently has a significant population of asylum seekers.

The migrants are 6 to a house. So it's probably a 6 bed HMO? With houses starting from £300k (according to the resident) that's fantastic value. Similar sized properties would likely cost i.r.o £1M in many parts of the south.

It'll be interesting to see how this plays out. If the area is more affluent, the residents will likely have and exert a lot of influence within their local council to have the refugees rehoused asap.

Portugual increases years to naturalisation.

In the case of naturalisation, legally known as “derived nationality”, the Government will increase the current minimum period of five years of “legal residence to qualify for obtaining nationality” to seven years for those coming from countries in the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries and 10 years for other countries.
