Most proper studies — like the ones in the Intelligence of Nations by Lynn & Becker — put India’s average IQ at around 76.2. That’s based on a mix of tests from different states and backgrounds. Not perfect, but still decently broad and more reliable than what we’ve got for a lot of other countries.

Now, Botswana’s numbers? They’re all over the place. You’ll sometimes see 81.4 quoted, but here’s the catch — that came from a super narrow test of Tswana-speaking high school kids taking exams in English, which already skews things massively. Plus, that higher figure wasn’t even from an actual IQ test — it was a “school attainment IQ” adjusted from academic performance, not raw cognitive ability. Not really the same thing.

If you go with the original data from the same source (Lynn & Becker), Botswana scores around 69.5. That number might sound low, but it actually lines up better with similar countries in the region. And even researchers like Wicherts have pointed out that a lot of African IQ studies suffer from tiny, unrepresentative samples — so both the high and low numbers can be kinda dodgy.

Meanwhile, India’s 76 isn’t from some elite school in one city — it’s based on actual nationwide testing over years. Even Brght, that online IQ test site that people love quoting, gives India a score of 88.5, while Botswana scores lower, usually in the low 80s or upper 70s depending on the dataset.

So yeah, when you zoom out and compare the most solid, apples-to-apples data? India comes out clearly higher than Botswana. The only time Botswana looks higher is when people use selective or inflated numbers from small student groups. India’s data isn’t perfect either, but it’s broader, more stable, and more legit.

Meanwhile, you are here suggesting that a nation that has lifted 415 Million people out of multidimensional poverty and has reduced its extreme poverty rate to 1% of population while also successfully sending rockets to the Moon three times and once to Mars, is somehow "not doing anything." You were the one that moved the goal posts. Our entire argument started because you didn’t want to admit that black societies weren’t on par with the rest of the world. And the thing is I looked back through much of our discourse and saw that at countless times you conceded. For example, when you conceded that Botswana is not even an industrialised country. The whole of Africa sef is is still not industrialised. You can’t build a real economy just selling raw stuff. That’s the trap Africa’s been stuck in for decades. Look at the Gulf even with oil money pouring in, they eventually realized that just extracting isn’t sustainable. That’s why Saudi, UAE, and Qatar are now racing to build industry, tourism, tech, and finance sectors because natural resources alone don’t build nations.

That’s why when you were comparing Africa or even the Carribean to other parts of the world. I never took your responses seriously. How am I meant to?
