How Tinubu Asked Ganduje To Resign, Penciled Down For Ambassadorial Position by zero8zero(op): 11:38am On Jun 28, 2025
Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has reportedly resigned from his position with immediate effect, according to information obtained by Saturday Vanguard.

According to The Vanguard, it was reported that Ganduje, who previously served as Governor of Kano State, was said to have cited health concerns as the reason for stepping down, explaining that he needed to prioritise his personal well-being. It was reported that his aides had already removed his personal belongings from his office at the party’s national secretariat, with both staff and visitors reacting to the news with surprise.

Following Ganduje’s resignation, the Deputy National Chairman (North), Alhaji Bukar Dalori, was said to have assumed the role of acting National Chairman.

Meanwhile, Saturday Vanguard reliably learned from multiple sources that President Bola Tinubu personally urged Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje to step down, as he had been considered for an ambassadorial appointment. Although initial reports suggested that Ganduje resigned on health grounds, insiders revealed that he is likely to be announced soon as an ambassador.

According to the sources, the All Progressives Congress is expected to hold a special convention in the near future to select a new national chairman for the party.

A source, who spoke to Vanguard on the condition of anonymity, said: “Due to the fact that Ganduje has been pencilled down for an ambassadorial position, Tinubu asked him to resign. Other members of the National Working Committee (NWC) will remain in office."

Further talking, the source said, "Only Ganduje was asked to resign. We're planning a special convention where a new chairman will be elected to run the affairs of the party. It also means that the list of ambassadors will be announced soon.”

This is the authentic information that has been out in the open a while back. Don't know why some section of the media are trying to cook another story. The fact that Kwankwaso is coming and Ganduje already said while receiving defected NNPP senators to APC, that NNPP is dead and only a matter of time before it is buried, he also added that he's ready to receive Kwankwaso into APC. Secondly, the NC have been agitating to occupy the Chairmanship position since Adamu resigned in 2023, thereby Tanko Almakura being in prime position to occupy the position and also being a faction of CPC.
Any other rumor out there about Kwankwaso replacing Shettima and a rift of the President with Ganduje is nothing but a fat lie.

Hmmmn.. It will be an insult for any country that accept Ganduje, with his video clips in the public domain. My opinion though.

A man caught stuffing wads of crispy dollar bribe notes into his babanriga/agbada is being considered for an ambassadoral role for a country.

What moral message are you passing to the younger generation? That one can walk his way to position of power once you deep pockets and can commit heinous crimes with no justice and failed institutions? What a country with failed corrupt leadership.

Even when all you said is the truth another truth you are refusing to add is that Kwakwanso is not be in a party where Ganduje is the chairman! Tinubu wont tell Ganduje this but it’s part of the game plan. Kwakwanso remains the biggest force in Kano more than Ganduje and Tinubu is targeting the over a million votes of that Kano state taking into consideration of the coalition which is still under conjecture.

If there’s no stronger reasons, Ganduje won’t resign from being the chairman of APC that happens to be a very juicy and well positioning role just for mere ambassadorial role. Ambassadorial role can’t make much sense to Ganduje.

Ganduje is resigning urgently for balancing and Kwakwasiya movement. My insider views!

This is dignifying and also an honorable thing to do I really commend him for this

Advantages of party in power and other party, if it's PDP or LP now, it would have been a tug of war. And if Ganduje do yamayama, security agencies would pick him up, who will do that for party not in govt.

Yes, he is the one. He is our boy, and in Politics, what matters is the number of votes you can deliver. But one day, one day, the gods will catch up with him

Leadership transitions are part of any evolving democracy, and health or national service can necessitate such changes. Wishing Dr. Ganduje strength and success in his next chapter. It's also a chance for the APC to reflect and renew its leadership direction.
