Hello to everyone I had a 6 months uk visa from last year, I used it once and it expired in January 2025 I decided to apply for 2 years Biometrics - Mon 23rd Vfs email passport ready - Friday 27th I didn’t receive any refusal email from ukvi so far But my worry is why so fast? I have never seen this kind of timeline before just 4 days to decision, I didn’t pay for any sort of piority just normal application. I m kinda nervous. I’ll pick up by Monday. Pls does anyone have an idea why decision so fast even tho I didn’t pay for Piority fast track, Biometrics was done at Ikeja Lagos. Bless you all for all meaningful contributions |

Hello everyone. Pls I am applying for my mum’s visit visa. I have just realised I made a mistake when doing the online application. I have put £1700 as money that will be spent personally on the trip, instead of £0 as Ii will be fully sponsoring her trip as usual. The thing is , I already booked her biometrics appointment , and cancellation is not really an option at this point. Can I explain this in a cover letter? 2. She has an account which is clean enough to use for the application. The thing is there is not much outflow and influx into the account, but this is the only one we can use as her other account has so many unexplainable deposits and withdrawals ( her business account) Can we just go ahead with this “clean” account and just explain in the cover letter about this being her personal savings, given we are primarily sponsoring her trip as usual. For context , this is a 5 year visa application ( has had 4 previous applications which were all successful. Thank you all. |

MizMary:I suggest you explain in a cover letter. With four previous visas, I doubt this will be an issue. She will most likely get the visa - even without the cover letter. Keep us updated. |

success2525:1. Nephew's graduation is not a strong enough reason. Vacation might even be a more acceptable reason 2. Depending on when you received the last refusal, it might be a good idea to wait till you reapply. 3. Have you ever travelled abroad? If yes, then that is fine. If no, it will be a red flag. If you earn N5M a month, how come you have never travelled. This is not me asking. This is how the visa officer will reason. 4. Why don't you try schengen or US. After that, try UK if you are successful. 3 denials is a hard sell Good luck! |

Hello, everyone. I am applying for a 6-month UK visit visa and would like to know if there is any significance of declaring on the form that I have a sister in the UK (relocated ~10 months ago via Care job route), as well as whether to do so or not. I am a first time UK visa applicant (purpose is to write an exam). Thank you for your responses. |

mamanicole:He meant the visa application form. However, you typically do not need to upload anything in the proof of application, except maybe your cover letter. mamanicole:The VAF, checklist, payment receipt, e.t.c, are all present on your submitted application. Therefore, the ECO already have access to them and no need to further upload again. The application in the screenshot below got approved last week in 6 working days (standard app) and none of those docs were added to the proof of application.

Picked up my passport today with 2 years visa It was quite fast just 4 days from biometrics to pick up email. I was in the uk for 6 weeks on my 6 month last year. Submitted everything I saw on the thread but I guess submitting a my bank statement that gives them access to login in real time to access both my personal and company account might be the reason for the swift response. Thank you all on the platform for the insights. Good evening bosses I am a medical doctor practicing in Nigeria, employed with a private hospital where I work permanently. I am also currently undergoing my NYSC scheme. I am booked for my PLAB 2 (UK Licencing Exam for medical doctors) in mid October. Evidences: Plab 2 booking, invitation from GMC for the exam, evidence of passing Plab 1, evidence of passing IELTS I intend to apply for a 6 months visitor’s visa to the UK in August with the exam as the purpose of the visit. My itinerary is about 2.5 million naira (flight, transport). I will be staying with a friend (my roommate from medical school who works as a nurse in the UK). My concern is the cleanliness of my account. I plan to submit my Standard Chartered Bank account statement. I receive my monthly salary from the private hospital into this account. I also intend to submit an appointment letter, annual leave, from the hospital. (However, they do not send me payslips). The account currently sits at 1.5 million naira, the only large withdrawal from it in the last 6 months is the payment for booking the exam. Also, I will be transferring money from my other banks accounts, locum duties from other hospitals, NYSC allowances etc into the Standard Chartered bank account until the visa application in August. This will build the account to over 3 million. I am also getting a parental support of 1 million from my dad. Will these evidences suffice for a 10 days visit to sit an exam? Or, should I go with the safer option of using my friend (ex-roommate) as the sponsor of the visit? He earns £2.7k monthly as a staff nurse in the NHS, has pay slips going back 6 months. However, his bank statement shows some large withdrawals in the last 3 months. However, before my August application, he should have been able to save north of £4k into the account. Nil immigration intention at this time. I just want to pass my exam and come back home on the weekend of the exam. One of my ties back to Nigeria includes completing my NYSC Scheme. I am conflicted if I should even state this since I don’t think I will get a leave letter from my PPA or NYSC). Other ties are coming back to my permanent role in the hospital I currently work. Looking forward to your opinions and guidance. |

@opey4luv Use @sokotogudali ‘s guide and naseer khan’s blog on plab2 to present your application. It is not really about all the hurdles you have mentioned but if you can successfully prove to them that you would return home. Nysc is complicated and if you can not get a letter from them to say you are returning then donnot put them in the mix. Ideally you should present a no objection or leave letter from your employers saying your leave approved for such and such date, you are expected to be back at wokr on such date etc Keep your account clean. I would not use sponsorship pf the staff nurse friend as it complicates things. You are also planning to have multiple deposits into ine account over a short period of time just before your visa application— don’t do it. This complicates everything. For salaries, locums, nysc pay etc there must be documentation to back up the origin of all these funds. If you can not provide it and present such an account—- refusal is likely. Lastly, I would advise you also have a look at the UKMG prioritisation for medical jobs policy that would be passed on Thursday this week—- just so you can have a back up plan. |
