Pls I’m new here and plan to apply for PG for January 2026 intake. As an electronic engineer graduate, which course with a good job prospect and sch with a good payment plan would be advisable to go for. Pls I need advice before I make my decision. Thank you |

Manmann:My mums first time visa, used 4 months statement, second time was 3 months statement. For my mum in law, hers was only two months for the first time. All approved. Though all were sponsored. |

I schooled and lived in the uk for 4years. I relocated to Nigeria fully last year but I would like to visit the uk this year with my wife. I have a business and also pay my self 4m monthly salary and my wife earns 1m monthly from same business. What’s the best way to apply? Should I apply as a director in my business using only my salary account or I should use my business ? My wife and I went to France , Belgium and Netherlands in December for our honey moon. I presently have active schegen , USA , Canada visa. Personal acc is around 10m plus. |

Desmondola2020:You should apply as a Director of your business, using both your salary account and the business documents to strengthen your application. Here's why: Applying as a Director shows strong ties to Nigeria through business ownership. Make sure your CAC is active and your tax status is active. |

Very good profile with a high likelihood of being approved for a visa. Just ensure you package your application properly. All the best! Desmondola2020: |

Desmondola2020:Make sure to pay extra attention to your wife’s application; hers is more likely to face refusal. |

The visitors visa application for my mum was rejected (this is the third time) on Thursday - 3rd July, the second time was far back as 2016 which was the last time she applied. The reasons they gave for the refusal was that (1) she didn't mention in her application that she had been denied a visa in 2016, we only filled that of 2013 which was the first time. We didn't include that of 2016. The second reason they gave was that the statement of the sponsor which is my sister, doesn't reflect that it is capable of funding my mum's two weeks visit. Now the issue here is that my sister has two bank accounts - one which has the required funds to sponsor my mum (over 7k pounds) and then she has another account which is more like an everyday income and expense account. For some unknown reason - possibly an error, the account with over 7k was not uploaded, but my mum's cover letter made reference to this account. Being that the ECO made a decision because of not seeing the second account (7k), does it make sense to reapply immediately and fix all the issues mentioned - (1) mentioning the previous reasons for her refusal - including this new refusal and also (2) upload all the documents and also making sure the real account holding the funds that will be used to sponsor is included. Please let me know what you all think. Thank you. |

Rhemi1:She was not banned? If no.. this refusal was totally avoidable. You have succeeded again in raising suspicion on your mom in this 2025– this was not necessary. Why present an underfunded account statement if you are a financial sponsor covering a trip? What are the immigration profiles of the people inviting her? Post the refusal letter. |

This would mean that we wait till she receives her passport before reapplying right? jmoore: |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 3:46pm On Jul 05, 2025 |
Rhemi1:My genuine advice is that her profile does not appear strong. In 2016, she intended to settle in the UK through an EEA application, which was refused. She deliberately withheld this refusal information in her current application, as disclosing it she felt would reveal immigration intent so this was hidden to give her better chances. Rookie mistake. This is why the ECO is surprised that if you can remember 2013 refusal, there’s no way you didn’t remember 2016’s own as it is closer. In my opinion, she will likely face challenges obtaining a visit visa due to her previous intention to live in the UK, and it could lead to frivolous excuses in denying her future applications. Would be one annoying reason or the other. Option 1 I recommend consulting a UK solicitor to explore filing a Pre-Action Protocol (PAP) or considering other options, but not a visit visa application for graduation at this time. Option 2 You can quickly put in another application now to try— apologise profusely and address the omission of the immigration history.. also attach the bank statement as well— Make sure to make them understand that 2016 was a long time ago and reiterate her very strong ties to Nigeria now and why(how) she must return to the UK. Even if they do not ask, you must make it your number one mission to dispel all their fears of her overstaying. If the visa gets denied the fourth time around then you know it’s due to the initial EEA application. This is one way to test them. |

Thanks alot for this response. Tbh, she isn't looking to settle as she only plans on visiting for just a few weeks so I don't really know if the first option will be the best. Secondly, If we decide to go with the second option, can we do that now even though she hasn't received her passport? giselle237: |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 4:03pm On Jul 05, 2025 |
Rhemi1:You can put in the online application and keep adjusting the biometrics date pending when she has her passport returned. |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by davodyguy: 4:10pm On Jul 05, 2025 |
giselle237:Rhemi1 To add to the last paragraph, the ECO mentioned that how sure are they that she doesn't want to use visitor's visa route to settle in the UK(many Nigerians are doing this illegally, so they have evidence) You now have to mention that this is entirely for graduation, not settlement plan, as since the 2016 refusal, she grown older and do not even have strength to remain in the UK as she was enthused 9 years ago. So this is purely visit visa and she has ti return ti Nigeria ti stay with other family members |

This is true, however the said graduation is this month, so if for some reason (maybe due to receiving the passport of this application late) we apply after the graduation, she might not have a strong enough reason to visit the UK. davodyguy: |

Can I use my salary account even though salary hasn't entered for 2 months? |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by jmoore(m): 6:02pm On Jul 05, 2025 |
