Am I the only one frustrated by the frequent blow from the refs for simple nudges (specifically by Ihezuo)..

Again, the SF need to work on their shooting accuracy. They were just ballooning balls all over especially in that 1st half. That Ohale's miss and Yakubu's 2010 miss, which one come worse pass? Naso so omohh I just dey shout after that miss..

I only started watching from 60 minutes.

From what I saw Ashleigh Plumptre was the best player on the field. Very technical player; sublime passing, good positioning & movement, calm and always picked out her teammates. Crosses were on point, defensive interceptions too. Also overlapped and ran the left channel effectively playing both 3 & 11. Not gonna lie, I was damn impressed. And I think she's even better as a central defender.

I wish her goal had stood. I could see that she really wanted to score and was willing the ball to come to her when Okoronkwo was about to take a corner kick.

We got lucky with Ashleigh. She no be white privilege. The gal na agba baller, and merits her place in the starting 11. I hope we achieve Mission X, and Ashleigh Plumptre contributes to our goal count.

True: However, Deborah Abiodun offers more energy which is needed in our midfield. We rely on two DM's most times in our formation and in case of an injury, Deborah will step in. We all know Ayinde is injury prone
I will prefer to have Shukurat Moshood groomed in than Esther Onyenezide as Onyi Echegini is still young to stay on the big stage for a longer while…

I think this current coach still doesn’t know how well to utilize Onyi Echiegini especially when the team is under pressure and not getting lots of possession. Onyi can get easily pocketed in those situations and it would be left to the coach to switch his tactics.

Symptoms still persist from wafcon 2022. This passing issue.
Whatever Christy did today should be the last. In coming months, the defense will be the least choked with talents and will need fresh legs. The Midfield is too choked with potentials right now but i won't lie, we still need a controller aside TP7. I guess i have to get used to Ihezuo being reliable when called on gradually. But RB2 is a great addition to this attack. She just might be the solution to our slack set piece debacle. Two GA from her left foot already.

But why this Man Dey Play Ajibade for midfield??
We have Toni Payne and Onyi Echegini in the squad, what’s wrong?

The decision to play Payne on the Right wing is a disaster already as she has never performed well for Nigeria playing from the Wing… The Midfield has been her best position for Nigeria!

Rinsola is okay for now but not fast enough…

Her major Strength is her ability to deliver excellent crosses into the Box. That’s why we need Ajibade on the Right wing as she can get onto such balls if our No.9 miss track.

Learn to ignore anyone who brings up these names in conversations about the Super Falcons (Onyenezide, Ajakaye, Sebastian). They are not to be taken seriously. I can assure you they haven't seen th se folks play football in the last 1 year. Imagine suggesting Deborah Abiodun be replaced with Esther? These are not serious takes and they should be treated as such by ignoring.

What makes all of this even more impressive is that she was played out of her typical traditional position.

Seriously, putting Echegini on the bench is criminal.

Well, I have watched all of them play and my proposal is on how to make that midfield click. We don’t have that all out creative midfielder we could substitute for Payne in some games. Echiegini is good but the coach hasn’t figured out how to use her properly together with Payne (or even without her).

We need someone who can connect properly with the defensive midfielders: Ucheibe/ Ayinde in connecting with the attack.

You are of course free to disagree with that which is fine.

She has been doing that for months. She always jokes on her instagram.

I feel very sure that the influencers that started trending it yesterday know this, but they want views.

This was at her club

Conversations around Onyenezide on this space isn't new. It comes around quite often every now and then. So this isn't particularly a dig at you but at the subject.

First, you'll notice I said most who make these claims haven't even watched said players play in upwards of a year. So the entire premise of their argument is based on nostalgia and I dare say ignorance of the game of football. It is similar to those who advocate for the inclusion of Nwakali ing the Super Eagles based in what they saw him do years ago at the u-17 championship, and most of these folks haven't followed his club career.

Age grade football isn't the same as club/national team football. You're literally playing against teenagers in these competitions and these platforms tend to make certain players look better than they really are. National team/club football offers players opportunities to show they are not just potentials but can own their own against the best in the world. Christantus Macaulay was the best player at the u-17 competition years ago, but couldn't replicate the same thing at club football and that was the last we heard of him

Let's talk about Esther, she's has featured in at least 5 games for the Super Falcons and played in at least 3 of them. She's trained under at least 2 different head coaches and participated in multiple training sessions. If these coaches still do not invite her when it matters shouldn't that be a signal that that know better than we do and she just hasn't impressed them enough to make the team? In contrast, Deborah Abiodun only needed one game to impress not just the coaches but the entire nation. Just one (and she was in college). Jennifer Echegini was also in college and didn't need too many games to convince. Now they are both signed to top teams in the USA and France.

She left Nigeria to Spain and Joined Madrid CFF on a 3 year deal. She played in just 1 game th entire season. This is the same Madrid CFF that played 15 year old Vicky Lopez because she was that good so her age or height couldn't have been the reason. Multiple coaches reaching the same conclusions is enough for us to consider, maybe they know something most of us don't.

Esther is now in Israel and getting enough playing time. My hope is that she grows and develops to a point where she's just too good to be ignored. She'll obviously garner more interest from better competitive leagues with guaranteed playing time. Till then she should be allowed to grow and not included in Super Falcons conversations every market day.

(BTW, same sentiments applies to Opeyemi Ajakaye and Flourish Sebastian)

IMO, Ajibade seems to be the best of the trio in midfield. Tony sometimes get outmuscled and Joe has a different profile. I see her more as an SS than an actual midfielder.

Your 4th paragraph is just a mere say. It is not foolproof enough to buttress your point.
Coaches always have their favourites. I'm not part of Team Esther but how many times did Randy left out Rinsola? What of Ucheibe? An injury was what forced Randy's hand to play Ucheibe. What of Nicole Payne? Even when we're practically short in her position.

Just gotta point that out.

You didn't pay attention to details then cause if you did, you'll realise I made room for the assumption of bias.

This is quite literally in what I wrote:

"Multiple coaches reaching the same conclusions is enough for us to consider, maybe they know something most of us don't".

What that means is that one of the three coaches referenced could possibly have been biased against her, but not all 3. The 3 coaches referenced being Randy, Madugu and the Madrid CFF coach.

So let's go with the examples of the players you referenced. Let's assume Randy was biased against Rinsola as you opined, she was still getting playing time at club level in UD terenife. Same with Christy who though wasn't Randy's initial first choice, was key to her club Benfica. Same applies to Nicole.
