My mum is fair skinned, my wife dad is fair skinned, I and my wife we are black skinned and then we gave birth to a fair skinned son.
The son carry my shape of head and forehead, my shape of nose my shape of fingers , my shape of ear, and my kind of voice but he is fair skinned while I'm dark.

which means you both have fair skin traits that's wasn't expressed in your generation.
.but showed up in your progeny

It's the same reason a black man (born by a white father and black mother) married to a black woman gave birth to a full Caucasian looking daughter with no physical trace of african..despite the black skin being a dominant trait

Your baby is not fair, that’s just his baby skin. Give it some couple of months and see his real dark skin.

However, If there’s a recessive fair skin in your gene, or even albinism somewhere along your blood line, your child can as well pick it up.
