So the common man should continue to buy at a high figure so that the intermediaries can continue amassing profits for themselves? Bros them take suffering swear for us?

Re: Marketers Protest As Dangote Moves To Crash Cooking Gas Price by EPIJOE: 7:39am On Jul 16, 2025
Why would marketers complain? Greedy fools. Gas should be the cheapest ever in Nigeria. Gas shouldn't pass #400/500 per kg.

If dangote can bring gas to such amount I don't care if it's monopoly, they should just ensure they build there own refinery to compete with him.

It seems this govt is getting it right on deregulation

Are they insane? Marketers are the ones affecting productivity in Nigeria. APC politicians are mostly these marketers cos they are using govt advantage and influence to maintain a hold on pricing

Dangote has announced plans to reduce the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas, also known as cooking gas. However the real enemies of Nigeria who have fed fat on the nation's natural gas resources for years while the consumers suffered are ready to resist such price slash. What a nation! Unfortunately, you will see gullible people who were born to suffer supporting this resistance
Even Dangote will succumb to the pressure and there is a high possibility that HE WILL NOT do anything to reduce the price because he is not far different from those wolves.

Hmmm! Clearly, Nigerians are enemies of Nigeria. They are so greedy and shameless. Someone is trying to make life easier and here some fools called marketers are spitting nonsense about monopoly. If monopoly is all about bringing prices of things down to the bearest minimum, then it's the best way to go.
May Dangote have the real zeal to do this 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Aliko Dangote is doing the lord's work.
Those marketers that are protesting should pool their resources together and build a refinery so they can give his refinery a run for his money.
God bless Alhaji Dangote.
I don't know the real work of DSS at this point. They're supposed to pick-up individuals attempting to sabotage the interest of the common masses. Anybody that always want Nigerians to be in pains because of his greed and selfishness should rot in jail.

I support Alhaji 100% on this one , let him crash the price. I don't know why it's expensive in Nigeria sef giving the magnitude of our reserves ..

The only excuse is that it's price internationally . You have my blessings to crash the price. This people should stop emotional black mail of monopoly.
Do you think that he also has ebilokan's blessings to crash the price to below N197 that it was in January 2023 when he campaigned with tribal Yorubalokan slogan to replace the northerner he alone made president to replace Jonathan who was performing so well but demonised with propaganda lies?

Deltafirstson:
Although the pump price of fuel was N197 when President Bola Tinubu took over on May 29, 2023, the product now sells for N617 per litre – less than two months after.

In his inaugural address, Tinubu announced that subsidy was gone, fulfilling a promise that all leading presidential candidates made during the campaign.

However, pump price of fuel hit N537 per litre days after Tinubu ended subsidy.

On Tuesday, the price climbed further to N617, a development that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) attributed to “market forces”.

Nigerians have been lamenting the hardship occasioned by fuel price hike. Amid the lamentation, a video where Tinubu campaigned to slash the price of fuel went into circulation.

Checks by Daily Trust affirmed the authenticity of the video uploaded on the YouTube page of Channels Television.

At his campaign rally in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, on January 25, 2023, Tinubu spoke on a number of issues, but those of fuel scarcity and naira redesign made the headlines.

However, Tinubu who spoke in Yoruba language, also assured the crowd that though people were saying petrol price would hit N200, it would be reviewed downward under him.

“The great Nigerian youths, the great Nigerian students, the confident Nigerian youths. This is a revolution. This election is a revolution. They are plotting, but they will fail. They said fuel price will increase and reach N200 per litre. Go and relax, we will bring it down,” he had said in the 7th minute of the video.

King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, a Fuji musician who performed at the rally, interrupted the president’s speech with chants as the crowd cheered.

On the campaign podium with the president were Vice-President Kashim Shettima; Pa Bisi Akande, interim National Chairman of the APC; Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President; Senator Gbenga Daniel; among other bigwigs of the ruling party.

Tinubu went further to say Nigerians would defy the acute fuel scarcity at the time and trek to cast their votes.

“The great Nigerian youths, the great Nigerian students, the confident Nigerian youths. This is a revolution. This election is a revolution. They are plotting, but they will fail. They said fuel price will increase and reach N200/N500 per litre. Go and relax, we will crash the prices,” he had said.

This headline has many hidden meanings. Like Dangote or hate him, the masses are the ones being played here. Dangote came into the Cementing sector, we all other players were pushed out. We know how the price of cement went. Dangote business model is market disruption at errant, then monopoly and finally the masses pay massively for the only supplier.

I have people thinking my statement lacked facts, Dangote and Ibeto has been in and out of court over cement, Dangote and BUA has issues over sugar. Dangote cement is one of the priciest in the market. These are facts, Dangote business model end game is monopoly.
Those who were pushed out in the cement industry were importers. They were pushed out when FG banned importation of cement and many other products. Tell these people to go into manufacturing like Dangote. They don't have to be Jack of all trades, just one product is enough for an individual.
BUA and Larfage are as guilty as Dangote cement, they're all colluding to fix the price of cement above the market price

Dangote and propaganda. Big headlines, little impact. Una go dey shout crash on top the usual N25 reduction? Senseless bunch.

These senseless bunch will crash petrol price from N918 to N916 and run to the media, all for the noise and propaganda. When will you people ever have sense? If N918 to N916 means crash, so what do we call N200 to N1000??

The government will keep using this man to press una muumuu button like toys. The goal is to deflect and shift your anger away from the government. Can't you people see? Same template with cement, PMS, now this? Our muumuu never do?
#200 to #1000 is called Booooooom!

Reducing the price of liquefied natural gas would encourage more use, believe it or not till now even in some urban areas people are still using firewood,I feel it is the distributors themselves that are monopolizing the LNG sector and feeling threatened by this knowing the benefits they tend to gain won't be substantially anymore

Dangote and Matketers are not in the same class, he is a " Producer" he has more legit influence on price than those rogues called marketers exploiting
Believe it or not, there was a deliberate design to destroy Bill Gates image and it worked to some extent. Despite all the billions he gives some see him as the devil - it is not by accident. The same campaign of image destruction could be launched against Dangote

So, they are happy with the way the Masses are finding it difficult to get money to buy the product at high price.

Now, this where the work of a Good President comes in, lets wait and see the if the Presidents also want her Citizen to pay more for a Product that can be purchased cheaply.
The president is one of the marketers grin

When we start producing items the price is supposed to come down but the so called marketers don't want market forces to determine price.

Smh. You're complaining ignorant of what Bill Gates did. He didn't crash price but bought put all competitors and expanded to keep others out. Alhaji Dangote didn't buy any of them but competing with them. He is exposed more to risks than them
This is exactly what I'm saying - despite all the billions Bill Gates gives (far more than anyone, see below) they still managed to convince you he's the devil - and you never suspect it's a well-designed campaign of character assassination

OlujobaSamuel:
Dangote isn't getting anything from NLNG, he is producing 22000tonnes per day which is sufficient to disrupt the market.
LPG is a waste product, majority of the cost comes from logistics, so it's easy for Dangote to bring down cost as he needs little to no capital investment for production beyond storage.
Our annual consumption is about a million plus.
With 22k tonnes daily, he will be producing about 800k tonnes.
NLNG isn't selling its whole production to the Nigerian market, only a percentage of it is allocated to the Nigerian market, which is about 400k tonnes per year, the rest is exported.
Dangote production is likely to increase with time, and with lower prices, Nigeria consumption is likely to go beyond 1m plus to 3 to 5m tonnes per year
I think the 22k tonnes was an error. Its most likely 2k tonnes. If it were 22k, then his annual production would be 8million tonnnes, which is 6 time more than our purported 1.3million tonnes consumption annualy.

WizardOfNG:
Bro, do you even understand what full deregulation of the downstream sector is meant to achieve? I.e completely free market competitiveness that benefits the masses?

Like someone said earlier, God bless Dangote. He is "doing the lord's work".

Better, for a nation with many in crippling poverty, to host a benevolent monopolist than a large cartel of price-fixing sharks determined to extort Nigerians to death because of inhuman greed.

If some of you pay attention, you'd have noted that Tinubu has always said he believes in a free market democracy meaning he will support those who help him to deliver that. You are seeing the results now where the people win.

Tinubu is a genius and the likes of Dangote etal will be his enforcers who will vanquish cartel and cabal-driven greed and extortion because the logic is simple. I.e if you can meet demand at a lower price than I can, then the market is yours to dominate.

Such is never "donating it for free". It is healthy competition that tends to force suppliers to give the masses the best as obtains in the most developed nations of the world.
Well, see another screenshot below. Despite this they still managed to convince people Bill Gates is the devil and in philanthropy to make money! cheesy
Same thing could happen to Dangote - that's what I mean

Believe dangote to your peril. Haven't u observed his strategy? He will come in, crash the price, chase away competitors create monopoly then make it more expensive than what it is presently. How Nigerians easily forget history I don't understand.
