GeneralDae:2,000 Tonnes compared to 1,000,000 Tonnes from LNLG? Why would 2,000 Tonnes( Dangote Present output most probably from fumes of Crude Refined, though I stand to be corrected) be a Threat to 1m Tonnes Customers? |

For how long will competitors be stupid and greedy? Why not go 3 steps ahead of dangote and crash the prices too and get more consumers to ur side? |

adenigga:The comments of the chairman of that whatever association doesn't make sense a bit. Someone has the capacity to sell his products cheaper and you're complaining about monopoly? Wetin Dangote gain if you're still sharing the market with him, especially when he can deliver with lower price? Oga, better go review your business strategies, or go into another business if you can't withstand competition. |

adenigga:These guys are crazy! In as much as I dont like some of Dangote's tendencies I cannot overlook the unusual greed we have in nigeria and the pockets of cabals in different sectors . If we can buy it cheaper why are the marketers not selling cheaper ? They form cabals and call themselves "marketers" ! Feeding large and crying crocodile tears when a bigger monopoly wants to spoil their greed. |

FreeIgboho:You don't get the key consideration here. Dangote is no philanthropist. He is a businessman who wants to make money by undercutting others in the market price-wise. If others too then respond by slashing prices, who win? The buyers i.e Nigerians. That is what free market economies do. Stimulate healthy competition, innovation and constant availability of goods and services. Since removal of subsidy, with the local Dangote refinery now functional, when have you experienced fuel scarcity that used to be the norm in the past when Marketers world hoard fuel and engage in cartel blackmail of Nigeria? When BUA refinery and others come on-board soon, it will be game over for marketers and that would be fantastic for Nigerians for many reasons. |

COMPAQ:Apologies, got my calculations wrong. However, the 22k might not be an error, due to the capacity of the refinery, although I don't know much about gas production to know what the amount of gas waste the refinery can generate |

Surely he will have to sell LPG gas from the refinery. It can't be stored indefinitely. |

chidiokay:You've said it all. This country just needs to encourage mass production of goods and services, how can importers hold this country hostage and pass the blames to the government?. It will always be cheaper from the producer, let these wailing mofos sit down and have good business talk with Dangote, they should enlist as distributors to Dangote and stop polluting our airspace with noise. |

In my personal opinion, I classify this comment as "POLITICAL" crash the price. Which one is Dangote wants to crash the price of LPG. Bro crash it. You don't need to notify or seek validation from the general public first. QED. |

parags:Precisely. The bolded encapsulates the big picture more or less. The so-called marketers want the retention of the condition that make it easy for them to blackmail and extort Nigerians. Whereas those who mean well for Nigeria will understand it is a free market economy we must embrace as an overarching approach to solving most problems facing Nigeria because nationally-backed subsidies are a thing of the past in most developed nations of the world. It is same with full deregulation of te Nigerian power sector. Serious States can partner with competent private sector companies to gain constant power which will improve socio-economic fortune of the States who take advantage of the deregulated power sector. Of course end users must pay more for power so that the private sector partner ,who most likely invested majority of the finance and carried out the technical work, claw back their capital and gain ROI i.e return on Investment. The caveat remaining that States who cannot engage in that manner, or do not wish to, can stay in darkness and stagnation. As simple as that. This is the time to get rid of all subsidy-reliant vestiges of redundant and indolent communism , we practiced for decades, to embrace a free market economy that will drive healthy competition, greater investment in research and innovation, better local solutions provision, socio-economic growth, sustainable development, greater manufacturing etc, etc. Nigeria and Nigerians will get richer and happier that way with many lifted out of generational poverty permanently . |

Fuckyoumod:How many bags of cement do common man buy in a month?. Cooking gas is a daily need, people needs to cook and eat. Dangote is discussing cooking gas, this is precisely what we are discussing here. |

In his recommendation, the gas expert said that though Dangote has the upper hand, he should embrace collaboration. These people are something else. The level of greed just to end up building houses, marrying several wives, and grooming their children into the same greed is something else. |

nairalanda1:Nigerians love easy ways, even Christ preached the narrow way. Any leader or anyone in position of authority, who tries to do the right thing automatically becomes an enemy to Nigerians. Some northerners were celebrating Buhari s demise on Tv yesterday, they said he closed borders, these are probably smuggler's and their beneficiaries. The same people profiting from dirty businesses are the one shouting inflation, poor economy and bad government. |

Tinubu is not happy with this because his boys are heavily into importation of LPG and sell at outricious price. President Tinubu is not a good man. There was a day a boy brought in an expired 12.5kg cylinder to fill in 3kg, told him to tell his mother this cylinder has expired. I had no cash with me that period, wanted to buy him a brand new one, fill the 12.5,kg to the brime, then use my car to transport it to his house. I was at my former house I stayed in 2004 when I saw this child. His mother is a court worker. Imagine how many families are in such condition but APC led government doesn't care. |

Commentor:See these neverdowells are so obsessed with Dangote, so much that if they have the opportunity, they will shut down all Dangote's businesses. I have never seen such obsession and mind you, it's the same group of people. There are so many cement brands in the market, but they will rather commit mass suicide wailing and gnashing their teeth, over Dangote cement. Dangote should bring down his cement price, as if they're the ones footing his bills. It's not a must they buy Dangote cement, they should buy other brands |

After making a fortune from sabotaging their countrymen and staring at the possibility of that being taking away from them, the resistance and wailing is very much expected. I have always maintained, fix Nigeria today and watch the wealth of over 90% of our current millionaires and billionaires fizzle. This is because most of them made their money from Nigeria's dysfunctionality - smuggling, oil subsidy, forex rackteering, oil bunkering, insecurity, hoarding, cronyism/nepotism, etc. - in sharp contrast to their counterparts elsewhere in the world who made theirs from providing value. |
