Pope is a religious title. A king is not a religious title.

The only people aggravating towards their colonisers are Christians. Muslims were never colonised by Arabs. Stop it with that baseless propaganda.

Islam has been in Yoruba land for decades or even centuries before the missionaries came and we were all living peacefully. Please stop it with the projection.
A king is both a spiritual and temporal title

Ask around

At least Yoruba kings

How many have been killed by Islamic fundamentalism in the North? Can we even count?

A king is not a spiritual title. It's a rulership title.

Also, Islam predates a lot of these idols that are being worshipped today in Yoruba land. Go and ask around. That's why there's mention of Imole in odu ifa. Islam already existed in Yoruba land before the ifa incantations were compiled. Do some studying.

Most importantly, there's absolutely no reason for tradition to remain stagnant. We advance in all aspects of our lives when we see an abviously better option. Why should that exclude our religion and belief?!

Arabic burial rite is foreign....

Two nations colonized Nigeria
Do you prefer the Ogboni way? Well burial rites should be made very simple, just like the Muslims do and not to mutilate or butcher a decreased and also not to start spending unnecessarily, extorting money from a deceased's loved ones. All these are nonsense and makes no sense at all........It only satisfy greedy and wicked people...Even as a Christian, I love Islamic type of burial which i believe should be emulated by all.

Nice one from Oluwo of Iwo,that our ancestors got it wrong during their generation does not mean that we should continue to normalise the abnormal. Every change you experience on planet earth is as a result of increased knowledge, otherwise the world will still be building coal fired locomotive trains.

Dark and evil tradition's of the ancestors that took them no where.
Why will a sane person butchered and mutilate the dead all because of one tradition we do not know the source.

Rest in Peace 🕯️ to the King.

Last night I had a conversation with a prominent ijebu chief over this same matter. He was visibly annoyed and was calling the late monarch all sort of names.
to be sincere with you, I'm a Christian I don't believe in those things but if you decided to be traditional ruler, underline the word traditional ruler not Islamic ruler or Christian ruler, you need to subject yourself to traditional rights and tenets afterall, he performed traditional rights before he became the oba. I don't blame the monarch calling him all sort of names.

Traditions become Cultures.

Cultures become Beliefs.

Beliefs become Religions.

Religions are replaced by Quantum Sciences.

When you master Quantum Sciences, then you become Awaken to the facts that Traditions, Cultures, Beliefs and Religions are all bullshit mind control and should be discarded to the refuse bin of history.

We Yoruba Muslims are not really happy with the way the Oba was buried, the yoruba tradition was not followed , or do we now have two types of yorubas?
Yes. There are two types of Nigerians. In general, there are two types of Nigerians in short. Arabic Nigerians and Western Nigerians.

The Arabic ones belive in polygamy and they love it. The Western Nigerians belive in monogamy. Thats just for a start. There are more differences.
The earlier you know this the better.

What's the significance of the practice of dismembering the corpse of a king before burial? Indeed culture of a people is unique.
In place, we do this if the person was evil in his/her lifetime.

The big question is if the late Awujale carried out the coronation rites
If he did and then rejected the same rites at his demise, then he betrayed the stool and its requirements that he signed up for

What is evil in a burial rite

Do you know how popes are buried?

Do you know how a new one is installed?

We always demonise our own and aggravate towards our colonisers

Both foreign religions supported and ordained slavery same way ours too

What makes theirs superior

Guess what, they are whites or yellows
How are Popes buried? Tell us abeg
No one mutilates their bodies

Change is constant. Any society that feels the need to change their tradition should do so.
Especially the barbaric ones where someone has to be buried along with a king to honor the king as obtainable in some African traditions.
If throwing twins to the evil forest was not abolished, many people won't be alive today.
