I love it for them. No wasting of money on coffins for the dead when you still have people living in that family that might need the money to continue and better their lives.

Whike My great grandfather was alive, he instructed that when he dies, he should be buried naked without coffin ⚰️. This was before I was born.
When I was told that story, I found it fascinating. According to him, "he wanted to hear the sounds of the termites".., his exact quote.
I have decided that if I have the luxury of predicting when death will come, I am doing the same. No clothes, No coffins! Just me and the red sand and ofcourse them termites. Let the termites start the party early..

Honestly this is part of what I love and admire about Islam. No matter how rich and influential, you will only go with the same white cloth. In my side, people brag about how much they spend on coffins like it has anything to do with where the dead is heading to.

All men are not equal when alive. Some feel entitled to steal our commonwealth, enrich themselves to the detriment of the citizens but when they die, we are expected to praise their humility because they were not put in a box.

Nobody forces anyone to break bank to bury their deads. It's their choice. Some muslims after burying without coffin still do lavish party. What is important is for people to do whatever they do within their means and in tandem with their culture. Every culture cannot be the same.

I supposed you tribe was considered when you were about to be named and will be considered when you're about to be buried.

How you were buried after death does not determine where you will spend your eternity, it's what you did before living this world that matters most.

Salvation from sin through atoning blood of Jesus purchases eternal life for every souls. Whosoever that will come to Jesus in repentance have assurance of eternal life.

This is the original from dust to dust because you came to this world without clothes, without a box from your mommy's tummy and if you were lucky, they used one wrapper to cover you during birth, so why do they build a house for you to sleep in aka coffin? Coffin is not an African idea BTW. Only Ancient Egypt mummified and decorated the dead so much, the average African uses palm leaves or anything natural. Coffins are western ideas that the colonialists gave us but you know what's funny, when there's mass burial, you see the truth about coffins. It's a luxury oyinbo man uses from birth to death to find something to make money from.

I have a question though. I noticed that in Islam, even when the deceased is a woman, women aren’t allowed by the gravesite, apparently because they weep. I noticed some men weeping during Buhari’s funeral. Why is it okay for men to cry and not women. Any reason?

You are right. At the end all for nothing after parting with so much valuable wealth that could have been used by the living.

It's not enough to be humble in death. Some people live arrogantly all their lives only to be buried in a wrapped clothes for humility's sake. Imagine a man who eats different meals from the poor, used different market, different hospitals, different school now all of sudden want to be equal with others in place of burial! True humility is the way we live life and not how we are treated in death.
