This is the flexibility we asked for last season. They said he won’t be able to switch back.

We have backed managers with several new players in the past. At this time and given our finances, it’s impossible to do so, we can only do so much for now. The only reasonable thing is for Amorim to show workings and his mettle by hook or crook before we can go all out to change the squad for him.

That guy and his supporters are just too rigid and stubborn/incorrigible.
You think you are making sense, right?

You sign a manager because you see him doing well at another club...He played a certain way, and that is what attracted you, but when he arrives, instead of giving him the resources he needs to deliver and begin to tell him stories...Are you not incompetent?

If the board you so love to defend are not incompetent, why did they opt for Amorim, who favours a 3-5-2 formation instead of a coach who plays 4-3-3?

If can't see that the board is to be blamed in all of these then, I can't help you nor can anyone here.

ETH lost the flexibility?

All these boys should be humbled by now..Often times it's not about how talented you are..We got €30m for McTominay without hassle but look at where we're with these spoilt brats we need to sell..

Bayern and Barca are desperately looking for an attacker, both are more focused on 29yr old Diaz..I hope INEOS plan isn't to force Amorim to reintegrate these egoistical maniacs..

Buy better players that actually want to be here for the club, they say no because they don't like the coach. When the coach is sacked, won't the new coach need better players or everyone must be forced to use the players that don't want to be here anymore or can't be assed to put in an extra shift unless they're playing a big team rival, or the ones that just want to be fighting gidigbo on the field and can't hold up play if his life depends on it.

I was not mincing words when I said a lot of guys here are praying we have a disastrous transfer window so that Amorim fails and they come here to say they won.

It is what I asked them weeks ago. If Amorim is sacked, what's next? Won't the new manager come in and ask for new players to be brought in?

🤣🤣
That's the plan. But how long will we keep rejoicing in the failure of managers while other teams rejoice on winning titles?

I feel Amorim will do well this season with or without players. I just feel so.

We're hawking our players around the world for half their value and nobody wants them because they are living like kings here.

No top manager will be happy to work with the tools we currently have. Even those that are optimistic, their optimism will clear after some games.

Only average and below average managers that are just happy to be the manager of Manchester United will be satisfied with the players we have currently. Their only goal will be to manage the situation and try to make top 4 as much as possible. Nothing more

Who are the players that left and started balling? McTominay? Lol...We all saw him at United, he is just there.

Who else? Rashford? Antony? They were so good that Villa and Betis didn't buy them for less than half their market value?

Nobody is making excuses for Amorim...We are asking the management of the club to back him up in the transfer market like other clubs are doing, so that he doesn't have any excuses if and when he fails...

Imagine a Spurs fan arguing that since they won the Europa League, Thomas Frank should work with players at his disposal rather than sign Kudus and Gibbs White...Won't you think the fan is mad?
Patrick, don’t do this now. We all know that the players you mentioned did / are doing great outside UTD. Let’s be honest, we (everyone including the fans) have a way of de-marketing players and making them look so bad that even other clubs will struggle to take a chance on them.

Did you see Chelsea vs PSG? Did you read comments from Palmer and how he praised his manager for his flexibility to take advantage of PSG’s weakness? Have you ever seen Amorin adjust or react to the opposition’s strategy before or during games? I don’t care whatever style you are bringing, just play to the strength of your team and be a bit flexible until you get tools that would work for whatever you are doing otherwise, na relegation, especially in the EPL. We saw that last season and may not escape it this season unless something happens.

Some of you think that things must be on a straight line.

Let’s start from trying to make top 4. Whether we buy a brand new squad or not, we are not competing for the title in 2-3 years from now. Infact, Amorim should make top 8 first with what he has, or do we need a brand new squad to make top 8?
Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by nitrogen(m): 11:55am On Jul 16, 2025
I am genuinely surprised to hear from folks here that we want the club to sign players for the club and not the manager. That’s good news, and I believe Sir Jim is working towards that. I just hope that you guys won’t come back saying that we did not buy players that can play Amorim’s 3-4-3 formation.

ETH made top 4, then made top 8 I think, then got Hojlund as his main striker that has never scored more than 10 goals in a season I think. Then he bought another half or semi striker. Mourinho made top 4 and won Europa, then wept bitterly for lack of players. We have been here long enough to know that when we make champions league, the club become reluctant to spend. Its only when we loose out that they start panic buying players for unnecessary amount and offering undeserving wages to players. We were not born yesterday

I agree with you. The above happened under the Glazers. Thank goodness we have someone else calling the shots. I am sure it would be different this time. If we make UCL, we will spend more to go for the league title. At this time, it’s looking like survival mode under Amorim. Top 8 will be a significant progress vs last season’s 15-17th position.

it's a gradual process. He's not going to get 11 players at 1s. This is the premier league.

We will buy players. But I won't be confident to spend big money on a manager that didn't show me anything last summer.
