lavida001:This was to correct their mistake If the Taliban had killed those guys It would have been irreparable damage to Britain and it's foreign engagements abroad Who will want to be a British asset or aid their efforts abroad if there could be a leak that will expose u and put your lives at risk To me, they made the right call |

lavida001:The jobs you are thinking of is not the one for that purpose! The people bringing them in are not stupid they know where the need is. France just recently granted asylum leave to folks from Gaza. All these things are transactional and not charity as the locals or citizens think. I pray one day a govt especially in Britain will be courageous enough to strike the right balance in the system without having to deceiving the populace. |

hi hi I have a question regarding a fresh Nigerian passport application for my toddler. . I paid since April 2025 and booked an appointment for next month, and now I can still see the Application status as "Waiting for approval" as seen in attachments below. Am I missing a step in the process? Is there something else I'm supposed to do before the biometric appointment date? I appreciate any response/help .. thanks

profemebee:Nothing, just show up for the appointment, they do give priority for those with children as they have their own entrance to the building different from the others. Just show up on time and you’ll be done asap. |

Lexusgs430:Update on this matter: The bank has responded with the seller's rebuttal and is giving me an opportunity to respond or they will revert the charge back. Can you imagine that this seller has forged my signature on 2 documents (Pre-Delivery Inspection document and Customer Certificate), claiming that I knew that the car had a steering fault and some other faults before test driving and purchasing it? Is this not a criminal offence? This steering fault we are talking about is one that locked the steering o! How could I have possibly test-driven a car with a locked steering let alone buy it?? I also have the Autotrader advert, which I requested from Autotrader that the seller mentioned the car was faultless. I am packaging my response to the bank, and any advice will be welcome. Thank you! |

Lincoln4u:Sole custody or sole parental responsibility? They are not the same but related. That is the point the ECO was making in that letter. You have three options: appeal the decision, reapply or ask for reconsideration. You need to provide more evidence as to why the father is not involved in this. If you are still in contact with the father then get a written consent from him. |

advanceDNA:As harsh as the refusal might sound but ECO was really digging in for the child’s welfare , the refusal is well detailed and the more you read it the more you understand more. |
| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by advanceDNA: 8:02pm On Jul 16, 2025 |
justwise:I read it.....and I still.maintain the eco was desperate for a refusal because a sole custody document was already enough for the mother to fly without the father consent....this is the standard..... So bringing up sole responsibility grammar to nullify sole custody judgement of a court that already assessed the welfare of the child is dubious |

advanceDNA:Yes standard but not always the case. she is bringing the kid to the UK where the system takes the issue of child welfare a lot more seriously |

Jamesclooney:Any evidence or DV abuse present? If not, the arrest is just a mere formality,to avoid breach of peace. He would be released but case might remain open....... I don't know how his relationship with his wife would continue after this, but the death wey wan kill person, wey only comot hat......... 🙃🤔 |

justwise:I’ve seen cases where child visa was refused just because fathers letter was obtained after they submitted sole responsibility |
| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by advanceDNA: 2:39am On Jul 17, 2025 |
Lincoln4u:That's what I was trying to tell jústwise..the ECo has deceptively created a catch 22 out of that visa application......claimed sole custody is not enough, and asked for consent letter, which is also grounds for refusal when sole custody is in place.. |
| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by justwise(mod): 7:48am On Jul 17, 2025 |
Lincoln4u:That may be true but cases are different, a family friend got a sole custody of her kids but the husband still see the kids twice a week and the court are aware of this. You need to explain this in your visa application form as the ECO may not be aware of certain issues regarding your separation. You also need to consider the fact that the spotlight is on Nigerians regarding child trafficking to the UK. |
| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by justwise(mod): 7:56am On Jul 17, 2025 |
advanceDNA:You are approaching this case one sided, I don’t see any deception here as ECO clearly explained why sole custody alone is not enough as requesting more information. |
| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Fred2020: 8:40am On Jul 17, 2025 |
giselle237:Even if she has sole custody, I don’t believe it’s appropriate to relocate a child far away from the father without demonstrating that he was at least informed or notified. Sole responsibility for financial support and upbringing doesn’t automatically justify excluding the father from such a significant decision. A move that greatly affects the father’s ability to maintain a relationship with the child shouldn’t happen unilaterally. If I were the ECO, I would probably also take the same decision. |

thanks for quick response Does this mean I don't need to show up quite early like 6am considering i'm with a toddler? Since they have their own entrance.. That queue can be very long Goke7: |

advanceDNA:I’m so tired after everything I submitted I don’t know what evidence they want again, there is a place on the refusal that they said I didn’t provide evidence to back up my claim on the court document o submitted |

Fred2020:You don’t know the level of the father involvement in her life, the child in question is 9 years old, she is able to know her right and left. I can boldly tell you she doesn’t recognize her father, that's because he doesn’t care and he has never bn involve in her life I left Nigeria 2years ago he never went to her to visit her Knowles fully well I’m not around, so how is my move affect a relationship that wasn’t there |
| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Goke7: 10:06am On Jul 17, 2025 |
profemebee:You need to show up early but by 7 or 7.30am they open the other entrance for those with children. |
| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Lincoln4u: 10:23am On Jul 17, 2025 |
justwise:I submitted both the sole custody and the sole responsibility I already explained to them but I think I need to explain much further. Thanks |
| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Fred2020: 10:26am On Jul 17, 2025 |
Lincoln4u:He may be a bad father, but he is still a father—even if only in name. Sadly, that’s not something you can undo or rewrite at this stage. If you are taking a major decision that could affect his ability to meaningfully interact with his child now or in the future, he needs to be carried along or at least informed. The ECO is right here. |

Fred2020:Speaking from a place of knowledge as I have handled some of these. If you need the father’s consent then that’s no more sole custody/responsibility and therein nullifies the court order for sole custody. That also means father must be contacted concerning everything for the child. In child custody stuff, sole custody means one parent gets to make all the important decisions about the kid’s life and the kid mostly lives with that parent. The other parent might still get to visit or stay in touch, but they usually can’t make big calls about things like school or healthcare. Sole responsibility further streamlines this. Only the one parent is RESPONSIBLE for the child and makes ALL the decisions. Sadly, your information is GROSSLY incorrect and should be disregarded. Child’s father’s consent will damage this application 1000% more. Cheers. |
