TONYE001:I definitely missed the HJ one, I should go find it. Looking forward to the next one Any advice for a young doc starting HJ soon? |
| Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by TONYE001(m): 12:18pm On Jul 18, 2025 |
Donpre:Doc, once again, congratulations! For HJ, nothing much; just prioritize your health, and be at your best per time. Getting a jotter to note management protocols of units you go through is a good way to go. Some of those cases, you may never see them again until PP. And the info you'll gather may not be readily available in the texts or online. Remember to document....document EVERYTHING. Let your documentations be timely too. They may just be your saving grace one day. If not sure, don't give any med; call your chiefs and ask...even if it means asking a thousand times...whether them dey insult you or not. In areas you are not too familiar with, be quick to say you don't know. Hands on, hands on. Skills like circumcision, femoral cannulation, MVA, episiorrhaphy, suturing, taps, etc...very handy. Many other things dey, but as you start, I'm sure you'll adapt quickly. Good luck, doc; best wishes. |
