In the last 10 years, Nigerians have been having back to back failures. With the way our rulers rule over us, I won't lie, if I was an American, I'd be extremely racist towards Nigerians too. Cos tell me why a country has oil but has no refinery. Has dams, but has no electricity. Has money, but has no standard of living. Has natural resources but has no public infrastructure. Has educated people, but has no educated leaders. A country that has no tsunamis, no earthquakes, no hurricanes. But can't control simple flooding. A country that has no natural disaster but has human disaster. I'd be racist too, my people. |

India with a population of over 2bn has over 74%. Nigeria with a purported population of over 200M has just 39% access. When we say letโs all lambaste our leaders both pst and present, some people will be doing dโck measuring contest that SW is more developed than SE, SE is more developed than NW, NW is more developed than SS. |

This statistics is false, you want to tell me with the level of homelessness in America, 100% of citizens have access to toilet. Imagine India with 74%, Bullshit. |

Even though the Stats is debatable and seem inaccurate. The fact that it's 100% in some countries like Singapore shows the stat is not accurate. But we Can't compare South Africa to Nigeria in any facet? Those days are gone for Nigeria. We are just pushing and fighting them back because you can't insult our country and expect people to keep quiet. Coupled with their xenophobic tendencies, if not they only compare the West |

Bede2u:Access to toilet means that if you really really need to use one, you can. A homeless person may have access to a toilet in a public building like a church for instance. |

It's high time government clamp down on houses without toilet. My neighbor no get toilet with 4 grown kids. Na embarrassing shit go dey smell everytime. No fresh air. Have complained, report &quarrel tire. In January,he will promise November. November he will avoid me until another January and promise November again. 3 years has passed. There should be a strict law to take care of things like this. Not just open defecation law. People dey store shit inside bucket till night or 3days. |

Sabadon:Yea people still do. Most people see Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt as Nigeria. When you start going deep into rural communities in the south and north, and see their standard of living, you'll know that they're saying the truth. |

Stupid stats. How they carry out this kinda foolish statistics and bring it to the public baffles me. Did they visit every household in Nigeria to make all this stupid conclusions? All this skewed stats to promote a nonsensical narrative. |

We should be ranked below 34%. Have you travelled to our rural areas? Most of our cities have so much suburbans, suburbs, shanks, slums, and debilitating derelict environment without toilets. |

Y'all need to stop comparing Nigeria with South Africa...SA is a functional society with 100% working systems, it would've been officially a first world country if not for the blacks. Nigeria on the other hand is a dystopia, a hellworld administered by a clique of degenerates kleptocrats for the benefit of themselves and their families alone. There is no basis for comparisons |

Buhari is to blame for all this. IN or OUT of power. DEAD or ALIVE. Abi, what do you want me to say, since according to those people, he's blamable for the obvious system failure from previous successive regimes |

I don't believe most of these statistics. A lot of these indices for developing countries are cooked by propagandists and lobbyists. They use the data to source for funds for NGOs from generous donors or creditors. I have seen instances where millions was injected to fight opened defecation, but the highest they do is to build some blocks of toilets mostly substandard and not sustainable. I know of a place where hundreds of such toilets were built but they were never put to use. The equipment have been carted away by looters |

WHO / UNICEF are all anti Nigeria, so we are less than 40% that have access to Toilets. I don't blame them. This is a very St*pid data collection.
https://x.com/stats_feed/status/1946002981410759082?t=sU58UTenm1q155CchqMFOw&s=19
|

lexy2014:In Lagos alone. As advanced as it is people still defecate in the open. Obalende under bridge, CMS, Lagos island shorelines, Ebutte Meta, Amuwo Odofin, even some areas of Lekki, Ajah, people still practice open defecations in those areas. These are the urban areas of Lagos. |
