There seems to be a dearth of top strikers in football now but Watkins will be at best a stop gap. He's not a world class striker.

Yeah I agree on all 3 points.

There are very few top strikers available and Watkins is not world class.

He is however EPL proven and has some good attributes. If he is not signed to ridiculous money and wages he can be a stop gap until we are able to get a top level striker down the line OR someone like Obi matures.

The major issue with him is his age. Only Newcastle and Man City in the top 6 from last season had better strikers than him.

Watkins, Cunha, Mbeumo, Zirkzee, Obi, Mount, Amad should be good enough to compete for top 4-6 this season.

The extra improvement needs to come from the coaching staff and building team chemistry on and off the pitch.

Actually our dry-goals spell predates last season. We’ve been struggling since ETH’s second season. It only got worse last season.

Glad something is being done about it.

If Bruno, Mbeumo, Cunha, Hojlund, Amad and Mount contribute at least 10 goals each, we’d have a much better season.

I never said that. I mean the attack would be a Top 4-6 attack.

The other parts of the team can be discussed on their own merit and improved upon, but if we add Watkins, Mbeumo, Cunha to Amad, Zirkzee, Obi, Mount that attack compared to other attacks is Top 4-Top 6.

He has decent movement and finishing. Decent pace, decent holdup play.

He is a decent striker and goal scorer.

Mount - 5 goals, 6 assists. Bare minimum. But I’ll take it for 20 league appearances.

Hojlund has to score more than 10 goals if he’s going to be a starter. There’s no point starting him if he’s not scoring or creating chances.

That’s why I think Zirkzee should be the regular starter. His style of play fits with Mbeumo and Cunha’s. He can play his 9.5, create chances, and assist them. Those two only need to outperform their xGs like they did last season.

If that happens, we’ll get into top 4.

Today’s game vs Leeds will be very telling.

Amad will have to up his game this season, enough of the playing it safe footabll. He can be as good as them Saka, Yamal with the right mentality...

United should look at Rodrigo Muniz or Samu Aghehowa for the striker position if either are not too expensive to sign...
