Kaduna: Police Ban Rally For Peter Obi's Birthday, Cites Security Concerns by fergie001(mod):
The Kaduna State Police Command has issued a security advisory, warning against a planned political rally by supporters of former presidential candidate Mr. Peter Obi, scheduled to hold in honour of his birthday.

According to a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, the Command received credible intelligence suggesting that the rally, though intended as a show of support, may be infiltrated by criminal elements aiming to incite violence and disrupt public order.

The police emphasised that all forms of political rallies and public political gatherings remain suspended in the state, pending the official commencement of political activities as prescribed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Command also noted that several political parties in the state are scheduled to conduct their primaries on the same day as the proposed rally, with proper notifications already submitted to the police in line with established protocols. Authorities fear the overlap of events could result in heightened tension, clashes, and a breakdown of law and order in affected areas.

“In view of these developments, the command strongly advises the organisers of the planned Peter Obi rally to suspend any gathering or procession,” the statement read.

“If they wish to honour their principal, such activities should be conducted in a safe and non-disruptive manner.”

The police warned that it would not hesitate to take legal action against any individual or group found flouting this directive.

The command reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order and urged the public to continue cooperating with security agencies to preserve peace in the state.

The Kaduna event has been cancelled.
*IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: CANCELLATION OF OBIDIENT DAY OF SERVICE TO COMUNITY ON PETER OBI'S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS IN KADUNA*

We regret to inform you that the *Kaduna Obidients’* planned *Freedom Walk & Fuel Relief Program* in celebration of *Peter Obi’s 64th Birthday* scheduled for *Saturday, 19th July 2025* has been *CANCELLED*.

Our Coordinator, Elder Yusuf Solomon Danbaki, while in Abuja, received numerous calls from security agencies seeking detailed information about the program. They offered advice on how to ensure safety and prevent hoodlums from exploiting the event. We took their concerns seriously and adjusted the program accordingly to avoid any form of hijacking or misunderstanding.

However, the calls persisted. Upon returning to Kaduna and during a meeting with the organizing committee to finalize preparations, we were invited by security officials. The committee members, including myself, the Deputy Coordinator Prof. Danjuma Sale, Comrade Daniel Ejembi, Prince Natty Auta, Evans Obi, and Ezekiel Chikwuemeka (Concern), engaged in extensive discussions at Sabo Police Station with the DPO and area command. Later, the Kaduna State Police Commissioner and the Director of DSS also joined the meeting.

The security agencies argued that our activities constituted political gatherings without official permission, especially as political primary elections for by-elections are scheduled on the same day, creating a volatile environment. They expressed concerns that our celebration could disrupt the rights of others.

We maintained that:
- We are law-abiding citizens committed to peaceful conduct.
- Our principal, Peter Obi, is known for his peaceful nature, which we intend to emulate.
- We have the right to contribute our resources and assist whomever we choose without requiring police permission.
- We accept responsibility for maintaining law and order.
- We proposed modifying the event to visits to hospitals, IDP camps, and prisons instead of street walks and music.

Despite our efforts, the security agencies disapproved, citing lack of prior notification. The meeting ended without any agreement at nearly 1:00 AM.

Attempts to reach the National Coordinator were unsuccessful. Considering the interest of our principal and the need to preserve peace in Kaduna on this important day, we have decided to suspend the program.

We hereby call on all Obidients to remain indoors, pray for our principal, and pray for Nigeria. We believe this action is connected to the rising popularity of our principal and attempts to silence opposition voices. However, our principal’s commitment to peace and order is more important to us and must come first.

- This situation highlights the growing suppression of opposition voices, but we remain undeterred in our mission for a New Nigeria.
-

We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused, especially to those who dedicated time, resources, and sacrifices from their limited means to make this event possible. We remain hopeful to impact lives positively when another opportunity arises.
A New Nigeria is Possible but it must be built on wisdom, not strife.

Thank you to everyone who supported us with their time, resources, and goodwill.

*Stay safe and united.*

*Elder Yusuf Solomon Danbaki*
Coordinator, Kaduna State Obidient Movement

But they cannot ban bandits.

When Nigerian police talks about credible intelligence, it means they fabricated it.

Wetin concern intelligence with Nigerian police? They are parallel lines and can never meet.

The biggest thr.eat to APC today is Mr. Peter Obi. That's why they hired lots of people on the internet, including Reno Omokri, to launch attacks on him.

The truth is, Nigeria cannot continue like this and Peter Obi is the right man to set this country on the pathway to greatness.

Tables turn, hope you know? Is this how APC intends to win the election? It is this undemocratic desire of Tinubu to suppress all opposition that has made the coalition popular amongst Nigerians. Tinubu cannot bully his way into power. You can only win presidential elections by consensus.
Re: Kaduna: Police Ban Rally For Peter Obi's Birthday, Cites Security Concerns by AMINDA: 11:07am On Jul 19, 2025
APC's strategy is to hound Obi and eventually rig him out brazenly with force and in Wike's words, "heaven will not fall". This is where the need for a coalition arise. Tinubu is obviously not scared of Obi as an individual because rigging plans have been perfected against him but he's scared of the coalition.

Peter Obi the tsunami is here, criminal politicians trembling.
Re: Kaduna: Police Ban Rally For Peter Obi's Birthday, Cites Security Concerns by Nobody:
All the status quo politicians are afraid of Obi and election never even start def..

Obi is a silent movement.

Of a truth, most of those crimin̈als in APC and PDP are already expired and they don't want an injection of fresh ideas and fresh personnel.

It will be a big sĥame if the youth, who command the majority of the voting population allow the aged, corrupt and cranky 2% to rob them of a forward going and dynamic leadership.

That's the power of being in power....Mr Obi can also relate to this... He also denied El-Rufai access and locked him up in the hotel during his own tenure..

AND some dimwits are talking about FEAR, FEAR, FEAR... When Obi holed up El-Rufai in his hotel room that time, was it because he FEARED Elrufai?
