It is still early days but we are still struggling in all phases on the ball.

The defence struggles to bring the ball out ( apart from Heaven and Yoro). the midfield struggles to secure the ball or move it along crisply (apart from maybe Mainoo on occasion), and the attack struggles to create clear chances.

Just for fluidity sake we have to start Heaven and Yoro. Maz and Shaw are too timid on the ball.

For the same reason I would start Maguire over de Ligt for now. Defensively there is not much gap between them and on the ball Maguire is more progressive and courageous than de Ligt. All de Ligt wants to do is pass back to the keeper.

Diego Leon is still raw and needs work.

Cunha is going to be a good contributor.

Bruno is a problem in any position on the pitch in this formation.

I wanted Bruno sold because i didn't see him fitting into the system judging from last season, but United rejected £100m for him because Amorim didn't want him to leave. Bruno is an attacking midfielder in a 433 or 4231 formation, playing him in central midfield will not work in my opinion...

This part. So many times the CBs and Bayindir had the ball and every single time nobody from midfield showed up to get it off their hands. Bruno and Casemiro just stood there in midfield and didn't even try to shake their man so they can be a passing option. Same with the rest of the team.
This is one place where I really envy other teams like PSG. Vitinha would entered box to come and collect it personally from his keeper

Normally, one shouldnt read too much meaning into preseason games that are meant to get players back in shape and fitness but bruh - that performance was literally us continuing from where we stopped last season.

As it is, na to just hope that Mbuemo and Cunha work up some magic upfront

maybe we should get a tall striker and play cross and nod, hoping that a rebound can come towards any of our forwards to score. With Bruno in this line up, moving the ball forward in a fluid manner will be highly impossible.

Neither Bruno nor Casemiro have the ball security to play in that position effectively. Their touch is not clean enough and their turn is not tight enough, meaning they can't receive the ball on the half turn. Furthermore, they can't dribble their way out of pressure.

If we insist on Case and Bruno as starting CMs then we must play Heaven and Yoro, or we will struggle to progress the ball.

Might be an unpopular opinion but what do you think about Martinez playing that Vitinha DM role for us? I have seen him play his way out of tight spots before to want to see him play DM at least once plus he is also a good passer

I take this to mean Amorim is already looking at the option of trying Mason or Kobbie in that position presently occupied by Bruno.

Amorim will only have himself to blame if he continues to overlook the ineffectiveness of Bruno in this 3-4-3 formation

Playing yourself out of trouble now and again is one thing. Having the energy to keep shuffling right and left and back forth in midfield is another thing.

We should also stop trying to force a conversion and instead buy the right players for the right positions.

Barca are paying all of Rashford's wages which is good. That is at least 10m saved for a season. €35m to make it permanent if Barca decide to take up that offer.

We will have to agree at some point that 343 is not working for us, or maybe it could work with Mbeumo on the right and a big strong bully striker like Aghehowa.

We need our midfielders escaping their markers and showing up for passes. Whether it's a 343, 433, 442 or 451, you need players constantly moving and showing up for the ball. Players that can progress with the ball and release the ball on time, not trying to fight their way through 3 opponents in the midfield
