Hello all, please I need help with this question.

I submitted a study permit application together with spouse SOWP.

My spouse will need a medical exam, given she answered yes to staying 6 months in listed country.

However, the "Request for Medical Exam Form" Did not show up, despite answering all the necessary questions correctly.

Do we not need medicals?
If we do, what is the solution for the missing form if application is already submitted

You can raise a technical issue request and see what feedback you get or just go and do upfront medical and send the e medical sheet via webform.

Please if I’m out of the country, can my spouse and I submit our passports in 2 different countries once we receive passport requests?

Also, does vfs Lagos allow someone to submit passport on behalf of their spouse?

I will be starting my Masters degree on a scholarship of $20,000 per year in Manitoba by January 2026 if my study permit is approved. I will be getting married by July (2025) and I was hoping to start my visa application after I'm married to be able to show in my application that I'm married. My spouse is still currently a student in Nigeria and would be finishing her study by August 2026. My plan and wish is that she would be able to come on SOWP immediately after she's done. I'm just trying to get it right and know what is possible and what is not possible; also, what to be done and what not. What do I need to do in my own application in Nigeria before travelling? More so, what do I need to do when I get to Canada (if my study permit is approved)? Is it feasible for my spouse to join me on SOWP immediately after she's done with her study? In all, any advise on how I can make this possible.

I'm planning to apply for a work permit and would like to know how to go about Upfront Medical and PCC.

1. Am I to reference my application number(after submission) to the physician and does it automatically updates on my dashboard?

2. For the PCC(Police Clearance Certificate), where and how is it to be uploaded ?

My wife has bsc in nursing and have been working in fmc for the past 9years she's RN with license a friend told her abt traveling to UK for better pay but i told her canada is the best please house is there any chances of her working in canada as a RN how can we go about this application if she want to apply for employment sponsorship visa in canada....

1. If you chose to do upfront medicals, you should have indicated that in your responses when you filled the questionnaire on this Gckey portal. The clinic would give you a slip after the medical examination and this is what you upload to the GCkey portal before submission of your application.

2. Same goes for the PCC, it’s the responses to the questionnaire that provides where and what documents to upload afterwards.

P:S
-Some TR applicants( work permits, study, visit etc) do not need PCC, be sure you really need it.

Hi Guys,I need an urgent answer.my spouse has a work permit and am eligible for applying for SOWP,just want to know how long it takes from outside Canada and also how long it takes from inside as I have a visit visa already.I am currently confused on whether to apply inside and wait or apply from outside..Please I want to know the current timeline of SOWP

Hi,

I am not sure you can covert visit visa into work permit inside, do well to confirm this. Also, you need to be sure your spouse job’s teer qualifies you for a work permit (SOWP).

Albeit, if all eligibilities are met, I think applying from outside might be straightforward, processing time from Nigeria was 9weeks as at few days ago.
