To me talking stage is useless, I can't pinpoint any benefit other than constant billing from girls while at it, you're already doing favors but your consideration is still pending, I get discouraged about girls because of the talking stage cliche, but I've been single too long I craved meaningful connection so I get started with one girl, she's brilliant, intelligent, she ticks most of my boxes, we spent weeks planning this elaborate date, she picked a restaurant, what to wear, transport and all, I was very obliging cuz I am serious about girls once in a while, only for this girl to come out of nowhere and say they have test that week, just few days to our meeting, like she's the busiest person alive, all that time I should have used to make a few bucks gone, all that talking, investment and productive time wasted, I just got fed up, if it's left to me I'd eliminate talking stage entirely, you know what I want I know what you want let's just get to it if you're interested, don't waste my time on useless talking stage that might lead nowhere.

"Maybe because I grew up in an environment where; if you like a lady, you simply ask about her from one or two people who might know her, and if that isn't possible, you walk up to her, letting her know you find her attractive, have a little conversation to know her name, where she stays, what she does etc. If that isn't possible at the first encounter, you get her number, continue conversation on phone or if you’re more of a physical person, agree to meetup at a restaurant and speak as an adult while reasoning if she'll like to be in a relationship or not. But recently, i find the idea of Talking Stage creeping in where you have to be proving to her why you’re worthy, spending in gifts, expensive dates etc. Meanwhile she can be in more than 1 talking stages, maybe 4 or 5 at the same time without committing to anyone of the guys while enjoying all the benefits of a girlfriend. This can go on for up to 6 months or a year and the girl will say "We are just friends " or better "he's my talking stage"

Am I the only one who finds this absurd? As a guy, will you say she's just a friend, best friend, girl friend or what? You're not allowed to touch her, regard her as anything personal to you and she goes out with other guys, while you have to keep up with your boyfriend-love-proving journey.

What really is the use of talking stage? Or is it really another copied western culture?

Some people will argue that talking stage is to know the person, but then, what is the purpose of the dating period?

They are not that local

I'll say because you don't have a standard for all this girls, that's why they define their own standard.
-Test her loyalty
-What's her intellectual capacity
-Is she intelligent
-How connected is she
-Is she a +/- to you in short term and in long term

But Boobs and Ass are most men standard
Talking stage is where you understand what are investing into in terms of money, emotion and time.
