Thank God we won, but today's game was a coaching malpractice by Madugu. He was out-coached by Ellis.

We were very fortunate today.

We've been devastating sending in long balls into the box..... I don't know why we waited till the end to do that. Also why move Ihezuo to the wings?
I said it minutes ago that those longs balls have been working cus of their deadly nature. Tiki taka + beautiful football out, Naija long balls in the final. Let’s go joor.

JohnBullMySon:
It should not be a penalty. At first I was shocked at the blatant pull then I watched the replay and saw there was no pull there.
Ohale should not be attempting a pull at that section of the pitch. Simple. It is a PK. Even if she redeemed herself with that goal line clearance, she messed up with that pk. Simple!!
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Kibbs(m): 7:01pm On Jul 22, 2025
SA was the toughest test imo and they passed. If Ghana makes it to that final, it will be a bloodbath

Demehin is one Useless Player!

She carried the ball out from her defense, Progressed nicely with the ball, now callously gave the ball away to a South African under no pressure, leaving her defense open for an attack, and yet jogging back 😂😩😩
That's Tosin for you. Over and over again that even her defenders don lock up. Expect it always. For that goal line incident, she was caught lost. Although Ashleigh was far away which should not be so, nobody was the focus of Tosin before that cross came in.

Our girls are playing like they are tired. These man needs to make changes. Our midfield is non existent. Attack isn't putting the south Africans under any pressure.

Okay. That chick is seriously in the running for Player Of The Tournament sha!

SIX goal contributions in a major tournament is not a joke!
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by QueenJazz(f): 7:05pm On Jul 22, 2025
South Africans will be cursing us under their breath by now.

We beat them narrowly in the 2023 AFCON semi finals

And now we've gotten another narrow win in the 2025 WAFCON semi finals

Back then, we beat them in the 2000 AFCON semi finals too

Anytime they hear Nigeria and semi finals in the same sentence, their legs go dey shake grin grin

The injury must have been very bad to elicit that kind of reaction from both teams. No reply needed please.
Its an ankle twist similar to Musiala's. All the best to Salgado. Wishing her a speedy recovery after surgery.

A win is a win, even a scrappy one, so I'll take it.

Nigeria 2 South Africa 1

Still on course to achieve Mission X.

It's Morocco in the finals most likely. Morocco has a solid coach, Madugu has his work cut out. I would encourage him to shout less but rather watch the game keenly to be able to make the right tactical decisions. SA neutralized for the most part in the 2nd half.

Good win for the girls and wishing us all the best in the finals.

That kind of coach is more focused on his girls rather than reading the tactical approach of his opponents, hence he can't make in game changes for the tactical advantage. See how he was super focused on Ashleigh and Esther today, you'll think they stole his okpa.

Congrats to scrapping this win. E sweet say naso the goal come.

Ihezuo is an amazon. Ijamilusi should have gone off since 70th minute. She was tired. Same for Esther. I dunno the nitro wey Ajibade carry after SA equalize sha cos e kon be like they just subbed her in.😂😂

She was everywhere.

Thank you! Very good observations..

I’ve followed since the Zambia game and his changes have been like for like. Doesn’t seem like one with a plan B if his plan A gets shot.

Kibbs:
I’d like to see Rinsola for Ijamilusi. Get some attacking prowess in the game. It’s anyone's game now
I was saying here too that those girls are tired and Ijamilusi should have gone off since. Baba no dey hear anything o. Let’s hope that final too goes well
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by PDPGuy: 7:15pm On Jul 22, 2025
We cannot replicate that 2nd half performance in the final, otherwise it would be a different story.

Our ladies’ decision-making has to be a bit quicker, especially in the midfield. Too many times in the match, our ladies took 4 or more seconds ti decide whether to make a pass, or run with the ball.

It’s the on-field decision-making that separates the elite teams from the mid level ones.

Ohale has paid her dues for the national team she should bow out honourably after this competition
Good game for the girls but so much to do if we are to compete with the teams playing the Euros am watching currently
Congratulations girls

Apt. Ijamilusi was not relevant on the pitch after the 60th minute. No fault of hers but the coach who couldn't discern and make needed changes. Esther should also have been off, the South African defence faced not pressure that second half, it's what gave them leverage to attack us the way they did.

Just in case Ghana by some miracle brings down Morocco, I hope they wear yellow in the finals. I'm starting to see a pattern where any team that wears yellow against us dey collect well well from us most of the time. grin
