RodgersAkpafu:Are people not passing through such challenges regarding British rules, too, and Immigration as well as other countries' rules? Why does it become only a crime when it refers to Nigerian Immigration alone? Don't we read of complaints here on this thread about application processes and denials, too? Guy relax! What Madam Kemi was saying in that video has nothing to do with those sisters of yours who got burnt, even Madam Kemi doesn't give a damn about them too, and did not say whether she applied or not, so rest jor! |

Goke7:But they still drive without license. Get fake MOT. Leave your people. When caught, they cry marginalisation and persecution. |

Goke7:Like I have told you Let's give it a rest U too rest Just watch and see what happens in the next couple of months as the noose gets more and more tightened Feel free to blame Aunty' Kemi as that happens ![]() And no, the point u raised doesn't apply here because you cannot compare a straightforward process (Britain) with a convoluted one (Nigeria , India, et al) Cheers |

RodgersAkpafu:All assumptions, that's all. The UK ain't the only country protecting its borders! and no it's not a straightforward process as confirmed by others here! |

RodgersAkpafu: You sound like the case of pass through the door and lock it permanently. Are you alright? Don't be more British than the royal family. Who are you in the equation of things to judge what they are currently doing. You may be a second generation citizen. Your parents came in like these people. Take it easy with that hatred. Its really strong. |

descarado:Im not even a citizen though im not in the corner most of our people are in immigration wise though, but not a citizen, just so you know So that makes your point invalid I hope to be one day, and unlike most Nigerians who are silly entitled, i know that citizenship, IF I get granted was not my right and NEVER my right That's one Two, coming from countries like Nigeria, India et al, where citizenship and residency and tribalism and caste system et al is the norm, we HAVE NO RIGHT OR BASIS to criticise the British govt for whatever they do in that regard Its a take it or leave it situation All that talk about "being more British than the royal family" is "lubbishh" talk (like anambra ppl will say lol) You Nigerians should learn to look ar things objectively and dispassionate, not from the point of selfishness and what will I gain And btw, I don't hate anybody And to turn your question around, who are you guys to tell the British govt not to tighten the rules if they deem it fit to do so |

descarado:Not happy or sad Indifferent One thing I hate is entitlement and that is what our people have been showing Even tribalistic Yoruba ronu scum of the earth UK branch are crying foul because of what is about to hit them When they are at the same time ronuing their fellow citizens back home Everybody go collect se it will go round |

descarado:I don’t even understand how someone will drive without a license and MOT risking not only their lives alone but their immigration status. I saw a visa denial letter months ago posted on a WhatsApp group, even me will deny the visa sef 😂 the number of driving offences, not having MOT, and so on. mhen it was too much! It’s not even with all the anti immigration policies and rhetoric but with many driving offences, invalid MOT and insurance those are things that get all other innocent immigrants in the loop. |

Goke7:UK ILR and Citizenship application is not straightforward Okay nau Have a nice day lol This topic pain you gan lol We are not entitled to sheet The earlier you lot realise it the better for us all. Anything we see over the next year and beyond, we take it like that, and if you don't like it, board the next flight to Nigeria where u are not subject to immigration rules That's the country u can go back to even with expired passport lol ![]() |
| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Goke7: 12:48pm On Jul 23, 2025 |
RodgersAkpafu:Nobody is talking about entitlement here but misinformation. You are the one sounding like someone pained reason you can’t focus on the main context. Naming and shaming doesn’t benefit anybody. This Nigerian mentality to see others being conquered will only ruin us all and our children in the future. We can do better and should be better. No one wins any trophy seeing others being denied of any privileges reason this thread exist to inform everyone appropriately and to abide by the law wherever we found ourselves. |

willyede:Hehe... you dey vex oo. The focus here is giving some a mirror so they can appreciate what drives their thought process. A good example is asking what if those returning decide to start developing from his/her home state? They'd sure chorus 'go back to your village'. People don't think alike and I've found peace accepting it. That Nigeria needs to be rebuilt does not mean a we'd line up behind a rat to do so. |

The state of things today... Some might look at it and say that black man with his many 'untreated diseases' from Africa is looking to steal my cookie

Interesting anx trending vid I came across.. Not very often do I watch a longform video. Medhi is good at his job though but the kind of ideas gaining ground are troubling. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2S-WJN3L5eo?si=reitTcYqzl48wUwj |

Elders, How did you cope while waiting for your security clearance? I have a conditional offer with the civil service pending the outcome of my SC application. We have declared everything (loans, credit cards, car finance, mortgage, etc.), and we are trusting God for a positive outcome. I am just curious, for elders that went through this process, what was your experience like? |
| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by bigtt76(f): 2:36pm On Jul 24, 2025 |
SC is not for the faint hearted during the wait period but rest assured you will get an all clear. They are probably on their way to visiting your village and all the places you lived previously back home ![]() teeebest: |
| Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by Goke7: 4:32pm On Jul 24, 2025 |
teeebest:I have a senior colleague who got an offer in February this year, and until May, before the SC was clear and complete. When I did mine like two or three years ago, it took like 6 months, though I have been working for the organisation that did it, so it was not a new job offer thing. Currently, I hear there's a temporary pause on high-level vetting requests like SC because of a system scheduled upgrade, resulting in a shutdown of their operations till mid-August (privileged information), so take a chill and keep praying for a speed-up of your application. Cheers! |
