I have a senior colleague who got an offer in February this year, and until May, before the SC was clear and complete. When I did mine like two or three years ago, it took like 6 months, though I have been working for the organisation that did it, so it was not a new job offer thing. Currently, I hear there's a temporary pause on high-level vetting requests like SC because of a system scheduled upgrade, resulting in a shutdown of their operations till mid-August (privileged information), so take a chill and keep praying for a speed-up of your application. Cheers!
Thanks Boss.

SC is not for the faint hearted during the wait period but rest assured you will get an all clear. They are probably on their way to visiting your village and all the places you lived previously back home cheesy
Thanks Boss.

Like I have told you
Let's give it a rest
U too rest

Just watch and see what happens in the next couple of months as the noose gets more and more tightened

Feel free to blame Aunty' Kemi as that happens grin

And no, the point u raised doesn't apply here because you cannot compare a straightforward process (Britain) with a convoluted one (Nigeria , India, et al)

Cheers
We know your type. I can see most people are already ignoring you, soon nobody would respond to your posts anymore. The presentation of a point is as important as the point itself. Cheers.

I have made my point and do not seek validation from anybody

I already told everyone to give it a rest and watch as things unfold

so essentially, what you and I say here makes no difference

but those with modicum of common sense get where I am coming from

I can tell u that much

Just keep your eyes on the policy and they get rolled in

Cheers

We wanted to visit Northern Ireland (UK) with our baby born in the UK( England) with evisa and birthday certificate without passport since we are still within UK we thought, but now we heard airlines won't allow it.

Please who can help with contact of any fast and reliable nin office so as to be able to do the passport, the one I saw online we were unable to book appointment.

like I (probably) said here before
I know of women who have been at the short end of the stick on account of archaic laws of Nigerian immigration

On different related matters

That's why I will have to side Kemi on this one

Go on reddit amd see for yourself the complaints from quite a number of our women.

Anyways, that failed shytehole will always do what makes it a failed shytehole
Side Kemi on what the law is clear about? Just like kemi didn't bother to check

You’ll have to get someone in Nigeria to do it for you, it’s called declaration of age. Luckily i was in Lagos when my brother needed to renew his as well. I went to the NPC at one of the local government offices in Lagos.

You don’t need a passport to visit Northern Ireland as it is in the UK.

That's how it should be normally, but some airlines plying that route can be very erratic. I once needed a passport to book either on Ryanair or Easyjet (cant remember which one again).

See a related case below; they made the family pay almost 500 pounds, unexpectedly.

https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/2066562/ryanair-refused-let-us-board-flight-from-london-charged-us-490

@ Vision202 boarding requirements seem to vary across airlines. There may be some that don't require a passport.

If you read the story well, they were trying to fly from London(UK, England ) to Dublin (Europe, Ireland) and take a bus back to Belfast (UK, Northern Ireland). Definitely you will need a visa or Irish passport.

But if it's London directly to Belfast, you only need a proper ID with an expiry date, because it's still within UK

Northern Ireland is UK, Ireland is Europe, even though they share Border, you might even drive from N.I through Ireland without even knowing.

Feeling confused and seeking clarity, Christina took proactive steps: "I decided to ring the British embassy in Dublin who directed me to call the Irish embassy in London and the woman on the phone was horrified. She said that there was no requirement for people to have a passport for travelling between the UK and Ireland and that there was also no need for a visa."

However, the situation wasn't as straightforward as international regulations suggest: "However, she explained that Ryanair could have its own policy requiring travellers to have a passport."

Generally, as an Irish/British you don't need a visa to travel to either of the countries as long as you have either of the passports. I know many people who only carry Irish passports and travel to London/Manchester etc, without a visa.

"Ohh Jeremy Corbyn" 🎶

Starmer's former boss has launched his new party "Your Party" along with fellow ex Labour MP and social justice activist, Zarah Sultana.

The Corbynites, disaffected Labour voters, Palestinian supporters and others appear very tempted.... apparently 500k potential members have already signed up.

I don't think Corbyn and Sultana have any chance of winning m(any) seats - Corbyn was unelectable in the 2017 and 2019 GEs for several reasons which still persist, probably even more so now.

However he might end up splitting the Labour vote and greatly increasing the possibility of a Farage premiership, especially in the 89 constituencies where Reform came second to Labour in the GE.

Interesting times.

Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by leirbag2:
When I first moved here, I had similar questions about the driving rules and licences. From my experience and what I've seen with friends, if someone is driving in the UK on a provisional licence, they’re meant to have a qualified adult with them at all times, and the licence itself can last up to 10 years, not just one year.

But you have to pass your theory and practical tests within certain periods, and if you’ve entered the UK with an international licence, that’s only really allowed for a year, after which you’re required to switch to a UK one or stop driving. Getting caught without the right documents or proper insurance can create long-term issues, especially when it comes to renewing documents or applying for anything official.

If you ever need contacts or help finding support for paperwork or services, I’ve learned it’s best to work with people who specialize in verified info and have strong customer support, kind of like what you’d see with BestMovingLeadsProviders when searching for moving-related needs.

Who wants to marry? Must be wife material and can cook and industrous

lavida001:
UK IMMIGRATION CHANGES FROM TODAY.

Today is one of the most serious changes to UK immigration rules in recent years, with further crucial changes following on 29th July.

How is it going to affect some immigrants?

Immediate Impact from today the - 22nd July 2025.

Skilled Workers will be hit badly:

• Skilled Workers minimum qualification requirements moves to degree level (RQF Level 6 equivalent to a bachelor’s degree)

• 100 plus occupation codes scrapped - care workers, hospitality roles, logistics, health support staff and others no longer eligible

• Salary threshold raised from £38700 to £41,700.
• Social Care Worker route permanently closed to new applicants.
• Supplementary work severely restricted - degree-level roles only

You will need to have a degree to get many roles in the UK. It will be back to school for many.

Further Changes from 29 July 2025

• Private Life settlement expanded for "half-life test" candidates

• UK-born children face stricter continuous residence tests

• Crown Dependencies residence now counts towards UK qualifying periods

As a silent observer, thank you for your contribution all the time.

I have another question as a first time driver

I have been on car search between Auto trader, Arnold's and other sites.

Conditions are; budget is 8k but I can do EV of more if it's worth it. I couldn't decide either to buy affordable new EV of 14k Dacia spring on payment plan or just buy any suggested used car under 8k. Suggestions given so far are Toyota Yaris, Hyundai i20, Peugeot 308 all 2020 version and above.

Kindly help me advice and suggestions that maybe outside of this list.

Buy a Yaris. As long as you get one that has been well maintained, it'll be very reliable and economical to fuel/maintain.

EVs are a great idea (assuming you can charge at home) but the Spring isn't intended as a main car. It has very low range and is best suited for being a second car for school runs, grocery shopping etc. If you can up your budget to the price of a new Spring and want an EV, you should consider getting a used Hyundai Kona or Kia Niro instead.
