You lot are amazing. Pls does anyone have an idea of when its likely to hear/read from vfs regarding my passport? I also tried to create a UKVI account to check my evisa to no avail. SMS Security code not dropping. What could be the problem? |

Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone here might be able to help. Has anyone used the Enugu Visa Application Centre for the UK before? My parents recently applied through there, and they’ve received an email saying that a decision has been made and the passport is being sent back to them. However, we haven’t received any tracking information—no mention of whether it's being sent via DHL, FedEx, or any other service. Is it normal not to receive tracking details at this stage? It’s now been about three to four days, and they still haven’t received the passport. Unfortunately, the center is closed over the weekend, so we can’t even contact them right now. If anyone has been through this process and knows how we might find tracking info—I'd be really grateful for any advice. |

jmoore:Passport delivered today It was an approval Kept the application very simple, purpose was for post-partum care, uploaded only sponsor’s account statement + 3 months payslip as her account is not up and running…so didn’t want to risk questioning from ECO, proof of ties to Nigeria was she would return to her husband whom she’s the main carer for. Prepared an invitation letter detailing the purpose of visit and attached necessary documents. Standard visa approved within 5days Glad for everything I learnt on this platform. In all, grateful to God |

I rectified and continue building the account now I'm set to reapply I have 10m in my account which I built over the month and also have 10m TB. I'd the going for 8 days which I'd spend the first 2days in the hotel which I already made a reservation after that, I'd stay over in a family friend place for the rest day. My friend has written an invitation also put in my itenery for the days I'd be with him. Please advise on the amount I'd need to state to cover my trip. A general advice would also go a long way. Thank you |

Please I need your advice, regarding my children visa applications refusal, I should reapply again for the third time, or I should complain about the refusal. Please read the reasons for the refusal below. Thanks

| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 7:36am On Jul 29, 2025 |
Fatliga2025:Is there no way for them to get British citizenship like their dad and reunite? This visit visa will not be granted. You used them as home ties, now the home ties want to also travel. As a father, will you allow the kid to return back to Nigeria when mother too is with you in the UK? Return to grandmother? Very unlikely. ECO’s fears are warranted that they will not return. The refusal reasons are valid. |

Hi all, I recently applied for a UK short visit visa for my mother-in-law. Yesterday, I received an email from UKVI stating that "the decision on your visa application has been made." Shortly after, I received another email saying "your passport and decision documents have been sent via courier." However, we have not received any contact from the courier yet no tracking information, no delivery update, and it's now been over 24 hours. I checked the VFS tracking system: Application tracking status: Delivered Passport tracking status: Handed over to courier I have two key questions: Does this type of email indicate approval or refusal? When I previously applied for a Skilled Worker visa (along with my family), the decision email clearly stated that our application was successful. This one doesn’t say either way, so I’m unsure. How can I find out which courier company has the passport and when it might be delivered? Is there a way for my mother-in-law to collect it directly from the courier’s office if we can’t wait for home delivery? If anyone has been through something similar or can point me in the right direction for getting answers, I’d really appreciate your help. |

Sunnepa50:If the person is being sponsored, just put a little token there like 20-50 pounds. Support is different from personal. |

Good morning everyone. I need an urgent advice. Now that my spousal visa has been approved, i would like my daughter to join me in UK. Now the issue is, she had already been granted a 10years( renew every 2.5years) route visa through her Mum( ex wife). My daughter and her Mum are presently in Nigeria to receive medical treatment which could last for 2years or more according to her. Ex wife wrote a letter to UKVI to this effect and it was granted and was told her visa/application would be on hold until she decides to come back to UK. My question is how do i go about bringing her back to UK? knowing she is already in the system and a letter was written to UKVI prior to them leaving UK. In my application, i stated she is not coming with me as she is with her Mum. But now that situation has changed what do i do? |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 1:13pm On Jul 29, 2025*. Modified: 1:48pm On Jul 29, 2025 |
Davinton:The easier method would be to follow the path that you already told UKVI abinitio… the path of her application and visa been tied to her mom. If you want to change this within 2 months of saying something else, honestly , the best advice I can give is to speak to a UK immigration lawyer or solicitor. Unfortunately, we can't just change plans on a whim every morning without expecting questions. These are real-life decisions and situations. |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by davodyguy: 2:41pm On Jul 29, 2025 |
giselle237:This reason is not valid at all. Let us be fair. Mother got visa in March, 2025 and confirmed that she will not be traveling with the kids. We are in July, summer 2025 Dad said, kids why dont you come with your mum to see me, since Schools in Nigeria will not be resuming until September. YK, yes in March, 2025 no plan for the kids. But their father a permanent resident in UK, says they should come see him for 14 days. What is the big deal in this? This refusal is sentimentally biased and not valid I wanted to visit UK once and I stated in my application. But in April, I had to return meaning within 6 months, I visited twice, even though I intended one time travel. Have I been dishonest? NO. Something unplanned happened that warranted that travel This is not fair on the children in my opinion |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by davodyguy: 2:44pm On Jul 29, 2025 |
Fatliga2025:Complain, see my response directly above this one, as the reason I consider this refusal biased That you did not mention in March, does not mean you lied. Their father guys please come, even though I did have money in March Do they want you to say, please give me visa, and in July, give my kids This one off me abeg |
| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by giselle237: 3:18pm On Jul 29, 2025 |
davodyguy:Father is a British citizen… mother is also travelling to the same UK.. their kids would have no ties to Nigeria when both parents are in the UK with them. No one accused them of dishonesty. Visit visa is granted on the balance of probabilities that the applicant will return after the duration of their trip and unfortunately in this case— it is no longer so. What compelling reason would anyone have to deport a British citizen’s child? No reason and the father knows this as well as ECO. So now that they have the power to deny, they have exercised it. Mom made it worse by using them as home ties and has gone back after her visa was approved stating change in plans. According to her this is their 2nd refusal meaning she most likely went back immediately after her approval. On the balance of probabilities, nope these kids have no reason to return to Nigeria, therefore REFUSED. |

| Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by jmoore(m): 3:54pm On Jul 29, 2025 |
Sunnepa50:Which kind agent be that? Any fund that is personal must be backed with the applicant's bank statement of account. If not, that's outright denial unless they decide to overlook it. |
