I joined Nairaland back in 2011 when I was still in SS1. Even then, I remember constantly coming across posts by this same user Madam Ilamina usually creating random, often baseless topics and asking seemingly pointless questions.

Fast forward to now: I’ve completed a five-year university course, graduated in 2021, and gained some work experience. Out of curiosity, I logged into the Romance section after years away… and to my surprise, Ilamina is still at it same username, same kind of posts, almost like time stood still.

It's honestly wild how some people can be so consistent, yet channel that consistency into something so trivial. I sincerely hope that offline, she has a more meaningful and fulfilling life because this online legacy is just… baffling.


On the other hand, Seun could at least consider introducing some form of revenue sharing for creators who consistently make original and meaningful posts. Even if it’s just a token say, a few naira per 1,000 views it would show some appreciation and motivate quality content.

Let’s be honest: everything Nairaland earns is built entirely on what people post here. For years, Seun has been pocketing the ad revenue without offering any real incentive to those driving engagement. No creator rewards, no platform upgrades, just renew hosting, collect ad money, and repeat. It’s no surprise the forum has barely evolved.

Ah swear I find it hard to connect with the forum these days.
This is African style. Provided it pays no need for an upgrade it'll always pay.
Then it loses to an upgraded competitor who leaves him in the dust and kaboom. Village people at work.

Face front and mind your business or create your own, The Suen guy is rich and more exposed than you are, he created the platform over 20years ago when programing wasn't even as common as it is today and that means he's a senior developer and has enough knowledge and money to do what ever he want's , If he's not doing it , it means he has some reserved reasons for it.
