Hail the gurus in the house
Please i don't mean to digress from the ongoing matter
Just two quick questions way dey worry me.

1) me and our kids have been drinking the Thames water, I mean tap water and I have heard some many different views about how safe it is to drink it infact the last one that got me so worried was when someone mentioned in the heat of an argument that she suspects the tap water contributes to the level of autistic kids... shocked

I realised I usually see white colour substances deposits-sticked to the kettle or pot after boiling water... wondering if same substances deposits inside the body after drinking. We are Beginning to consider bottle water but the consumption and cost no go be here
Please your candid advise

2)I have been over 3years in the country and have been striving really hard to climb the property ladder but we keep spending out of 10% deposits savings (saved in separate account) though some spendings are inevitable financial obligations.
Please is it a bad idea or decision as a first timer to jump into Rent to buy scheme or shared ownership option to secure our first home?
Abi all we need is more strictly financial discipline on our deposit savings as the thing keep fluctuating
Thank you gurus,
Your input would be highly appreciated
Una thank you very much

About water consumption, we have a 2 tier system in my house....... My wife and her children, only drink bottled water... Whereas I very happily drink tap water......... We only live once, do what works for you..... 😁😊

Rent to buy or shared ownership, I honestly dislike both schemes..... Why would I want to pay a mortgage on one half of my property and rent the other half....... When you intend to staircase, you pay mega for the privilege (PLEASE READ & WATCH YOUTUBE VIDEOS AND DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH ON BOTH SCHEMES, BEFORE YOU PULL THE TRIGGER).......

Bros/Sis,

For the second part , don’t compete with anyone. Take your time to make savings . Jejeje you will get there. You are only 3 years old in this country , why pressure yourself. Do what works for you. Circumstances are usually different, while some buy under 3 years , others take 10 years. No go put pressure on yourself and end up making bad decisions. Take it easy , you will get there at Gods speed

Listening to this interesting program live on BBC Radio 4 about types of racism and discussing Diane Abbot's suspension... That mama said the fact. Racism is to blacks, what happens between people of same colour is not racism, it's prejudice. I hope I can get the replay online and share.

Hi Elders,

I feel like I’m missing a trick here and would appreciate if someone could confirm whether or not there’s a better way.

I’m flying out from Heathrow with the family (2 adults, 1 infant). I live approx 2-hour drive from Heathrow airport. Why are all the airport transfer options costing me £300+ (return journey)?

A) Pre-booked private taxi hire – £330
B) Enterprise self-drive car hire – £320
C) Drive my own car and park at Heathrow Airport for 2 weeks – £500 to £600

I don’t know anyone who lives in or around Heathrow/London axis where I could park my car on their drive or in a bay.

Train + taxi is roughly the same cost and travel time, plus the added inconvenience of changing over in central London to reach Heathrow Airport.

Any suggestions or make I close eye park the 300 quid? (E go pain me sha 🥲)

Thank you

I can only answer the first question.

We don’t buy bottle water, we got a virgin pure machine now called (Our tap) which uses a combination of filtration and UV light to remove impurities. You can use my referral code and we both get £30 voucher https://ourtaap.com/?ref=1718568785.

FYI, I pay 33.79 per month…

I use either these sites. Not sure which terminal you flying from but best price I saw for 2 weeks is ~£150.

Was wondering why his quotes are so high. Perhaps he's using official Heathrow longstay parking which is more of a hassle than the meet and greet options where you drop off and pick up your car off at the airport short-stay park which is next to the terminal

All the times I've parked in Heathrow which is usually for 2-3 weeks, my fees are usually abt £150 or less.

I tend to put searches thru cash back sites like Quidco as the rebates manytimes do add up.

Although Nairaland is the encourager of those that actually want to keep hope alive, that’s why I opts to give back in a way I know that I can.

It may surpass the figure I gave because whom U give my tell another; yeah, but let’s keep it that way until I return here to announce that I need those WIILLING to be Tradies….elect/plumb & must “reside in London”(I will tell them why).

They must be willing and may be sacrificing shifts for this particular purpose at some point, otherwise people tends to play with anything that is free.

The aim is to get people out of security jobs and into skill jobs.

I NEVER pay for parking at LHR or LGW...... I simply park on residential streets not far from the airport and get a one stop train, bus ride or uber, into the airport...... 😂😉😁

Thanks for providing the roads. I’ve just looked on Google maps and there’s no way I’m leaving my car on that busy road for extended period of time.

Knowing my luck, it’s the one time I park there that the car will be clamped 😂

Keep your information to yourself. Why did you mention it if you really don't want it known, you actually expected people to be quoting and begging you to share, it's good that your expectations were cut short.

I wonder why you think that information you didn't invent is known to you alone.

Have you tried yourparkingspace.co.uk.

I have used them a couple of times and I found it very safe and affordable. I usually opt for spaces with 5star reviews from many users.

Some of the space owners also offer drop off to LHR for as low as £15 or you can to take a bus.

I paid £57 for 13 days in August
